Feuds in the hip-hop world are common, and now, Kanye West, also known as Ye, has entered the chat. This time the controversial artist has set his sights on Kendrick Lamar, a risky target indeed.

Lamar is currently one of the most revered rappers of this generation, especially after his recent beef with Drake where he clearly walked as a winner. So, is West doing himself a disservice by provoking Lamar?
Kanye West’s latest comments about Kendrick Lamar

In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), Kanye West did not mince his words when he was addressing Kendrick Lamar’s contribution to Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated album. He wrote, “I DON’T LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC. HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM” (via Billboard)
Now, this tweet sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community, especially because we all know that Lamar is such a lyrical powerhouse, and has been raised to the status of a cultural icon. Before all his controversies and racist comments, West also enjoyed a similar status in the industry, but now, he’s more associated with tumultuous subjects than music.
He also posted about hating Lamar’s diss track against Drake, titled, Not Like Us. All these comments by the artist are pouring in after the release of Playboi Carti’s album, a project that has left him bitter about many things.
From praises to feud: Kanye West’s shifting behavior towards Kendrick Lamar

We all know that ‘unpredictable’ is Kanye West’s middle name, and knowing the person he is, the artist would probably think of this as a compliment. His latest comments have made outlets like Baller Alert feature his past tweets about Kendrick Lamar, where he praised him to no extent, calling his album an “inspiration.” Even in a recent interview with Justin LaBoy on The Download, West said:
If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose. This man does this. You know, in Street Fighter, you get Chun-Li, you get a certain kick, and no matter what, you can’t beat that thing?
If you rap against Kendrick Lamar, like Joe Budden said, ‘Never rap against Kendrick Lamar.’ If you rap against Kendrick Lamar, it’s a difficult task, but perhaps it’s something … I’m a psycho genius, so you know, it could be.
West’s shifting opinion suggests that it could either be a calculated move to generate buzz or just him talking about things on a whim, without putting much thought into it. Regardless of what it is, if Lamar responds to this, it will be a proper feud and not just West passing comments on the How to Pimp a Butterfly rapper. Moreover, Drake might enjoy these rare moments of peace, when he’s not under fire by Lamar or his fans.
