“You’re going to have to kill me”: Will Kanye West Really Start a War Against Kim Kardashian Over a P Diddy Song?

Another day, another Kanye West controversy – only this time, his ex-wife, their daughter, and P Diddy are involved in the fiasco. The rapper recently dropped a new song titled Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine on his X account before quickly deleting the post. The song featured his daughter, North West, Sean “Diddy” Combs, his son Christian “King” Combs, and musician Jasmine Williams.

Apparently, Kim Kardashian didn’t want her daughter, North, to have to do anything with the song amidst Kanye West’s growing negative popularity and Diddy’s legal controversy. According to reports, she tried to stop the release of Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine and trademark North’s name, which didn’t sit right with Kanye West, who is ready to go to war with his ex-wife.

Before Kanye West dropped the track on March 15, he posted a screenshot showing the alleged text exchange between him and Kim Kardashian. In the conversation, he could be seen writing, “I’m never speaking with you again,” to which Kardashian replied,

I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop. I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her. One person has to trademark!

We agreed when they were born I would get all of our kids names and trademarks. So one else would take them.

To this, West wrote back demanding that his ex-wife “amend it” or he would be going to war, resulting in a public fallout neither of them would apparently be able to recover from. He also texted, “You’re going to have to kill me.”

According to TMZ, Kardashian did all she could to stop the track from being released since it had North West‘s vocals on it. When she found out that the single was going to be released, TMZ’s sources stated that she sent out legal letters demanding a cease and desist.

An emergency meeting was set up with a mediator and a judge, and while West did not attend it, he allegedly promised not to release the song. The sources added that thanks to Diddy‘s federal s*x trafficking charges and West’s recent behavior, something he’s quite infamous for, the SKIMS founder didn’t want her daughter anywhere near the mess.

While the industry seems to have turned on Diddy, with no one wanting to be linked to the industry mogul, West has come out in his support. Diddy was arrested on charges of racketeering, s*x trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. While his trial is set for May 05, the rapper has denied any and all charges, pleading not guilty.

West, who has always been in the news for his controversial opinions, took to X, where he launched into a rant and came to Diddy’s defence (via E! Online). He wrote things like, “FREE PUFF,” “PUFF WE LOVE YOU” and even asked President Donald Trump to free him from jail.

West added that whatever is happening to Diddy, was just a way of making an example out of him. He also wrote that “white people” are trying to “scare n***as” and that people need to find out exactly who is after Diddy.

As for their song, while West’s tweet no longer exists, the song can apparently be found on YouTube and it begins with an alleged call recording between the two rappers. Diddy allegedly thanked West for taking care of his kids, to which he replied, “Absolutely, I love you so much man. You raised me. Even when I ain’t know you, know what I’m saying?

North also appears in the song, rapping, “When you see me shining, then you see the light.” Will the song ever see the light again?
