Since crossing paths in 2005, Eric Winter and Roselyn Sánchez, who’ve been married for the better part of 17 years, are still going strong. But like any other successful relationship, the duo isn’t immune to some healthy bickering, which isn’t surprising as despite being in the same field, Sánchez and Winter are complete opposites for the most part.

This further translated into their time in Hallmark’s A Taste of Summer, as the Devious Maids star wasn’t exactly too thrilled about her husband’s playful shenanigans on set.
Roselyn Sánchez had to put on the adult shoes in her collaboration with Eric Winter

Although Roselyn Sánchez and Eric Winter prefer working together, their approach to the medium couldn’t be more different. Opposed to the Rush Hour 2 star’s no-nonsense and professional demeanor on set, The Rookie star on the flip side loved goofing around with everyone on set, which didn’t exactly sit well with his partner. Winter amusingly recalled (via US Weekly):
We had a blast but our process is very different. This was a light-hearted romantic comedy, so there was no point in us being all crazy serious. I goof around on set and have fun with everybody. Roselyn was so serious. I was looking at her like, ‘Why do you look like you want to kill me? We’re working together, we’re supposed to be falling in love!
In her defense, one of the producers did throw a tantrum about Winter’s off-screen shenanigans, and the actress, who was more focused on getting her stint right, had “to be the adult in the situation.” But amidst all the playful back and forths, at the end of the day, the duo often had a great time overall.
Eric Winter instantly rejected a reality show idea out of fear

Apart from joining forces for a feature release, Winter and Sánchez also chimed in to kickstart a podcast, He said, Ella Dijo, “which means ‘she said,’ with Spanish flair”. But before venturing to the silver screen together, there were some initial talks about a potential reality TV show, and The Rookie star was quick to dismiss this possibility out of his fear of a divorce.
She recalled:
For a second, I was like, ‘Ooh.’ Then he’s like, ‘Absolutely not. We’re not doing reality TV.’
He then added:
I don’t think I could put all our life out there every week. We argue enough about what she posts on Instagram!
Despite their clash of personalities on set, A Taste of Summer proved to be a decent success for the duo and Hallmark movies, thanks to the impeccable chemistry between the two stars.
A Taste of Summer is available to stream on Peacock.
