Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet are turning up the temperature in Marty Supreme!

Gwyneth Paltrow is stepping back into the spotlight, and she’s doing it with a bang (literally with Timothée Chalamet). After spending years focused on her lifestyle empire, Goop, the Oscar winner is making her big return to acting with Marty Supreme, an upcoming A24 film from director and co-writer Josh Safdie.

The movie which is inspired and “not actually based on” the life of professional ping-pong player Marty Reisman, promises plenty of drama, but it’s the sizzling chemistry between the two stars, that’s really turning the heads.

A few months ago New York City paparazzi caught the actors making out with each other as their lives depended on it in Central Park (via Grazia). The steamy moment had fans shook.

In her recent Vanity Fair cover story, Paltrow cleared the air, she explained,

I mean, we have a lot of s*x in this movie,There’s a lot—a lot.

Discussing her character and her dynamic with Chalamet’s role, Paltrow shared that she plays a woman married to someone involved in the Ping-Pong mafia, who ends up developing a romantic connection with Marty, portrayed by Chalamet.

With Paltrow’s return to acting, a whirlwind love story, and intense onscreen chemistry, Marty Supreme is gearing up to be a film that will be impossible to ignore!

Gwyneth Paltrow explains why she told the intimacy coordinator to step back!

The role of intimacy coordinators has become a major talking point in recent years, now more than ever because of the Baldoni vs. Lively case. As conversations around on-set safety and boundaries grow louder, the presence of intimacy coordinators has become more vital than ever.

For Gwyneth Paltrow, however, this concept was entirely new. Having worked in an era without such guidance, she revealed,

There’s now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed, I was like, ‘Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on.’

The actress also went on to explain that while she understands the purpose of intimacy coordinators, she feels that being guided through every move could feel uncomfortable and ultimately make her performance feel stiff and unnatural. She said,

We said, ‘I think we’re good. You can step a little bit back,’ I don’t know how it is for kids who are starting out, but…if someone is like, ‘Okay, and then he’s going to put his hand here’ I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that.

Paltrow also shared how much fun it was to team up with Chalamet on screen! With his string of unforgettable performances in recent years, audiences have come to expect nothing less than brilliance from him, and this film promises to be no exception.

Marty Supreme is set to release on December 25th, 2025.
