Tracker’s Jensen Ackles Shares Major Update About New Show ‘Countdown’: ‘A Beautiful Ride’

Tracker’s Jensen Ackles just gave fans an update on one of his many recent projects – Amazon Prime Video’s new series Countdown.

“COUNTDOWN Season 1 complete. What a beautiful ride it has been these past 6 months,” Jensen, 47, captioned a March 15, Instagram post. “A brilliant crew, a fantastic cast and an absolutely wonderful experience. Thank you to Derek, JB, Marc, @primevideo and everyone who made this project a reality. I’ll see you all for season 2 p.s. thanks Tom for all the pics.”

The Supernatural alum shared several snapshots from behind-the-scenes of the show in the post. Many commented talking about how much they can’t wait to see the show.

“I will watch anything this man plays in,” one person commented on the post.

Tracker's Jensen Ackles Shares Major Update About New Show Countdown

In June 2024, it was first announced that Jensen was cast as Mark Meachum in Countdown.

Countdown starts following a suspicious murder in broad daylight, which leads to LAPD officer Mark Meachum being recruited to join a secret task force of undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement to investigate,” according to its synopsis on IMDB. “But as the truth of a more sinister plot comes into focus, the team must overcome their conflicting personal agendas to unite and save a city of millions.”

Season 1 will consist of 13 episodes. A premiere date has not yet been announced.

“I had an incredible experience working with the Prime Video team on The Boys and am delighted to be able to continue that relationship on Countdown,” Jensen said, per Deadline. “I simply cannot wait to partner with Derek and the rest of our Countdown family to bring this story to life.”

In addition to Jensen, Jessica Camacho was cast as Amber Oliveras, Eric Dane was cast as Nathan Blythe, Violett Beane was cast as Evan Shepherd, Uli Latukefu was cast as Lucas Finau and Elliot Knight was cast as Keyonte Bell. The show will mark creator Derek Haas’ first series after signing a deal with Amazon MGM Studios.

Currently, Jensen plays Colter Shaw’s older brother, Russell Shaw, on Tracker, as well as revealing that he will be returning to The Boys as Soldier Boy. He confirmed he will be returning for the Amazon show’s fifth and final season along with Supernatural costars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins.
