The Audi TT was discontinued two years ago but fans of the vehicles can rejoice at plans to bring back a version of the car.

This original car was a coupe and the new sports car will be inspired by it.

Audi stopped production of the third-generation TT in 2023.

The company’s CEO, Gernot Döllner, said Audi was ready to make a car for the future.

Döllner said: “I believe Audi should have a sports car, for sure.”

When asked if a model like the beloved TT could make a return he said: “Yes, that’s thinkable. But we have a broad view on what’s possible.”

He explained why he was adamant that Audi should have a sports car going into the future of motors, according to Auto Express.

The CEO also shared his thoughts on whether electric vehicles would be best for the future.

He said: “If you’re talking about real racing cars for the track, to me, the only way until now is combustion engine or hybrid.

“But if it’s more for everyday use on normal roads, I would definitely see a transition to the electric era.”

The CEO’s remarks could give Audi TT fans hope that the loved roadster might come back in some form.

Audi shocked drivers when it stopped producing the beloved TT car.

It first hit the roads in 1998 as a compact version of a typical sports car.

The vehicle was scrapped after it reached an incredible 25 years in production.

This vehicle’s final edition was on the market in 2023 for just over £56,000.

It had top speeds of 155 miles per hour and went from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 4.8 seconds.
