“These two MUST get some sort of team bonus”: It’s Been Months But Marvel Rivals Refuses To Acknowledge the 2 Heroes With an Obvious Team-up Potential

Marvel Rivals has taken over the world with its superhero gameplay and breathtaking visual design. The game made by NetEase Games has been the talk of the town since its release back in December of 2024, and the title aspires to keep its players entertained with more and more updates and new heroes coming every season.

Marvel Rivals features all the heroes from the Marvel Universe and brings them together with a feature called Team-Ups. While the title introduces a lot of popular Team-Ups from both the comics and the cinematic universe, this one Team-Up potential from the game has been ignored by the developers since its release. Of course, we are talking about Captain America and Bucky.

Marvel Rivals didn’t add a Team-Up for the OG duo

Marvel Rivals has become insanely successful in the few months that it has been released, and what makes it different from other superhero shooter games is a feature known as Team-Ups. The Team-Ups feature allows players to have a dynamic synergy between two or more characters from the game. This synergy usually combines the powers of both the characters and gives a sort of buff, or extra ability to the players.

While the Team-Ups feature might not feel that powerful in lower lobbies, it plays a huge role as players reach a bit higher elo in the game. Team-Ups play a very powerful role in gaining an advantage over the enemy team, like a Team-Up known as Guardian Revival, where Star-Lord and Mantis can team up with Adam Warlock to gain the ability to resurrect after death. There are currently 16 Team-Up abilities in the game.

Marvel Rivals introduced the Team-Up feature since its release and has implemented it with some popular Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Venom, and Peni Parker, but NetEase has completely forgotten about a Team-Up with Captain America and the Winter Soldier. In the game, there is no Team-Up synergy between these two characters, and it just makes no sense.

Fans of the game are devastated to learn that the OG duo has no Team-Up in the game, pointing out that NetEase has completely overlooked the potential of both Captain America and the Winter Soldier. Players have even come up with their own ideas for a suitable Team-Up between the two heroes, pitching suggestions like Captain could lend Bucky his shield to uppercut other characters.

The missed opportunity that NetEase shouldn’t ignore

The absence of a Team-Up between Captain America and the Winter Soldier just feels like a missed opportunity for Marvel Rivals. Both of the heroes have a rich lore that bonds both of them in a synergy that only Captain America: Civil War has shown us. These traits make them the perfect candidate for a unique Team-Up ability that could enhance the overall gameplay.

With Marvel Rivals constantly expanding its roster and adding in new features, there is still hope that Captain America and Bucky will get the recognition they deserve. Until then, we can only hope that NetEase listens to our feedback and does justice to one of Marvel’s most iconic partnerships.
