Sash was relieved to learn she hadn’t blown things with Maxine.
And Carol was concerned when Liam doubled down on his refusal to give into Fergal’s demands.
Jacinta and Fergal felt thwarted by Liam’s indifference after he made it clear that he’s moved on.
Nikki became outraged after she thought she saw Maxine out on a date with another woman.
When Liam got word of new funding for the project, he couldn’t help but rub it in Fergal and Jacinta’s faces.
Nikki blew up at Maxine, only to be proven wrong in her accusations.
However, to Sash’s relief, Maxine refused to let her cut their losses.
RTE viewers took to social media to express their opinions as Liam got one up on Jacinta and Fergal.
Isabel tweeted: “I feel like there’s something we don’t know about Liam and Fergal.
“Liam has a massive chip with no explanation. Even Fergal is confused lol I don’t think even he knows.”
William said: “Liam’s got to be Ireland’s most unlikable lodger!”
Another viewer added: “Good news, you’re leaving Liam, is it?”
Elsewhere on the show, Tommy noticed an emotionally intimate moment between Dean and Mairead.
Meanwhile, Leo offered some sage relationship advice to a downbeat Dean who was surprised to learn Leon was aware of his feelings for Mairead.
ROMANCE BLOOMS
Mairead got defensive when Tommy counselled her about ending things with Dean.
And he later urged Dean to do the honourable thing and make it easy for Mairead to forget him.
But the pair surrendered to their desire when Dean admitted his love for her.
Elsewhere in Carriagstown, Emma unintentionally gave Gwen a new strategy to fob off Joan.
QUICK INSPECTION
When the shower breaks at the flat, an overrun Gwen considered throwing in the towel but James refused.
Gwen and James were stunned when Joan called over unexpectedly to perform an inspection.
Inspired by Emma, Gwen lied to Joan that her ill friend is coming to stay.
Scrambling over the unexpected visit from Joan, Gwen ordered James to stall the lodgers at McCoys.
He was irked when he was forced to splash his cash to keep the lodgers out of Joan’s sight.
But, Gwen was relieved when Joan, satisfied with the flat, finally left.
James and Gwen clashed over their next move regarding the lodger as Emma inadvertently confirmed that Gwen was lying to Joan.
