When we think of the ultimate babyface in WWE history, the only name that pops right up in our mind is John Cena. With a career that spans over two decades, Cena has always been a fan favorite for his righteous morals and principles of “Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect” and “Never Give Up.” Many fans consider him the Goku of wrestling. However, for every Kakarot, there’s a Vegeta who has helped him push past his limits.

Here, Cena broke past his limits when the Legend Killer, Randy Orton, shared the squared circle. With a carefully woven narrative that made every wrestling enthusiast tune in to World Wrestling Entertainment during the 2007s. With Cena now being a heel, a new fan theory has been circulating the internet, where it is heavily believed that Orton will aid his old pal to get a happy ending.
The one where he is a baby face, and fans love him wholeheartedly as he squares off in the ring, one last time before he hangs up his boots forever.
Randy Orton: The man who will help John Cena to redeem himself
Back in the day, when Vince McMahon took the initiative of going all PG with his WWE, John Cena became the face of the company. Whereas Randy Orton became a heel who became a menace, hitting RKOs and punting anyone standing in his way. However, it was the carefully woven narrative that brought these two faces together, sharing several years in the company as bloodthirsty rivals, trading championships, and becoming the two titans of entertainment wrestling.

Last year, in 2024, when the Leader of Cenation shocked the WWE Universe during the MITB pay-per-view. The fans were not ready to hear Cena announcing his retirement; 2025 would be the last time they got to see him competing in the ring. However, something felt odd because the 16-time WWE Champion was not being his usual self, showing up less, forcing fans to call his retirement run the most boring in the company’s history.
Surprisingly, fans were taken aback as they witnessed Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect finally going heel as he launched a surprising assault on Cody Rhodes after the cue from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The beatdown shocked the fans, as their childhood idol forsook the very qualities that he instilled in every young fan.
Now they await how Cena and Rhodes will battle it out in the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. While an ‘evil’ John Cena showcases his full potential, making his last run for a 17th WWE Championship more memorable, fans believe that his old rival, The Viper, would play a prominent role in punching some sense to Cena and making him again the beloved babyface of WWE.

However, it’s not just Randy Orton who will bring some sense to Cena, because some even believe that R-Truth would also play a role in making him realize how the path he chose was wrong. Some fans came up with their script, believing that R-Truth would also face Cena, where he’d come out wearing his old merchandise.
But Evil Cena will leave Truth battered, as he wants to leave his saintly self in the past, as he wants to take the chance, ensuring he becomes the greatest there ever is and the greatest there ever will be.
Randy Orton vs. John Cena: One last time?
Orton is now involved in settling the score with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 41, as he came out on last week’s SmackDown with a cutting-edge promo. The 14-time WWE Champion sent a chilling message to Owens via WWE about how “the voices in his head” were talking to him again, and they instructed him to kick him in the head “so freaking hard” that even his “closest family members wouldn’t be able to recognize his face.”

With the rivalry reaching its boiling point in WrestleMania 41, some fans believe that Cena will become a 17-time WWE Champion. However, that would not be the end of the chapter because Orton and Cena would face off one more time for the prestigious title. But this time the match would be more than being a champion.
This time, the match would be about Cena’s legacy, as The Legend Killer will ensure that Cena hangs up his boots as a man who is loved by all.
WWE RAW can be streamed on Netflix. WrestleMania 41 will be a two-night event taking place on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, 2025.
