THERE are so many potions and lotions on the market that claim to be able to get rid of eye bags and puffiness.
But the products – including the viral under-eye patches that have been doing the rounds on social media in recent weeks – all tend to be on the pricey side.

So one woman has shared her budget alternative for dealing with the skincare issue, and all you need to do is raid the kitchen cupboard.
In a video on her TikTok page, Julianne explained that she mixes coffee, honey and water and applies it with a brush under the eyes.
“It might look weird but I can assure you it works better than those expensive under eye patches,” Julianne wrote over the top of the clip.
“We love this mix!” she added in the caption.
Before adding in the comments that she uses “two instant coffee packets, 3 drops of water, then added my honey”.
She further explained the benefits of the mixture in another video, as she said: “This is one of the easiest at-home under-eye masks that you could possibly make with ingredients you probably already have in your cupboard.
“Beyond buying stuff that doesn’t work, and to be honest, your girl loves cheaper alternatives.”
As for why the coffee and the honey work so well under the eyes, Julianne said that the former “helps constrict those blood vessels, reducing the appearance of puffiness and dark circles under those eyes”.
While honey is a “natural moisturiser that soothes and hydrates the delicate skin that’s under your eye”.
“They’re both antioxidants. Honey helps the skin absorb the caffeine. This is all you need,” she insisted.
Julianne advised leaving the mixture on for 20 to 30 minutes, and to do it two to three times a week.
“I do it at night, right after I do all my skincare. Wipe clean. Finish off with castor oil,” she concluded.
“I do this too with turmeric honey and plain Greek yogurt,” someone wrote in the comments section.
