A SUSPECT being hunted over the murder of Scots businessman Campbell Scott in Kenya has been found dead, local cops have said.
Police confirmed Samuel Musembi – who was alleged to have ferried the 58-year-old victim’s body for over 100km – took his own life on Wednesday.

Mr Scott, of Dunfermline, vanished on a work trip to Nairobi. His body was later found tied up in a sack of pineapples in a forest 66 miles away.
It is feared he had been kidnapped and brutally tortured before he died.
Musembi is alleged to have driven a vehicle that carried Scott’s corpse from Pipeline Nairobi to Makongo Forest in Makueni county, Kenya, where he was found in the sack.
Today, detectives hunting the killers confirmed the driver had taken his own life while on the run.
He was alleged to have been hiding at a friend’s home in Dandora, Nairobi.
The pal is said to have found Musembi seriously injured from a self-inflicted stab wound after he had locked himself inside a room within the property.
He was said to have been denied entry to a local hospital before being rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital on Tuesday night, where he died on Wednesday morning.
A police source said: “The heat on him was too much. He died by suicide.”
Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin later confirmed Musembi’s cause of death.
Officers said two more suspects named Bernard Mbunga Mbusu and Alphonse Munya Kilewa alias Edu are still on the run.
We previously told how the three men, including Musembi, were arrested last year for kidnapping and blackmailing a preacher.
The trio were accused of bundling the pastor into a car, stripping him and extorting cash.
Investigators said: “The suspects are linked to the brutal murder of 58-year-old Briton, Campbell Scott, whose partially decomposed body was found on February 22, 2025, in Makongo Forest, Makueni Sub-County.
“Scott had arrived in the country just days earlier to attend a business conference.”
It is also alleged that the men tricked Scott, who was in Nairobi for business, before murdering him.
Cops believe £12,000 was stolen from Mr Scott after they murdered him.
It is understood he had his mobile and bank cards taken after being lured to his death.
Around two million Kenyan shillings was withdrawn before his body was found tied up in a sack of pineapples in a forest 100km away.

Police previously arrested two suspects on Saturday in coastal city Mombasa, 300 miles from where Campbell disappeared in Nairobi on February 17.
They are being held in custody and are reportedly helping officers with their probe.
The two caught suspects allegedly successfully attempted to access money using Scott’s credit cards in Nairobi, Voi and Mombasa.
Suspect Alex Mutua is believed to be the man seen on CCTV with him on the day he vanished on February 16.
Court documents state Mr Scott was taken to Mutua’s house where he was “murdered and his body disposed of in Makongo forest”.
His hands and legs had been bound. His card and phone were missing and police are still hunting other suspects.

Mutua and Mutinda are behind bars facing charges relating to murder, kidnap and theft.
Campbell was a director with credit scoring firm FICO and had been in Nairobi for a conference.
Local media said pathologists ruled his injuries were too minor to cause his death. Toxicology tests are being carried out.
