And while this is surely up for discussion, he reportedly also played a huge role in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 2. Let’s dive deeper to understand what actually happened and what his role was in Reynolds’ 2018 blockbuster.

What was Jon Bolerjack’s contribution in Deadpool 2?

The Hollywood corridors are buzzing as a new documentary based on the final years of Marvel legend Stan Lee is apparently in the works. This is being made by Jon Bolerjack, who is a comic book artist and has also referred to himself as Lee’s assistant. The project is titled Stan Lee: The Final Chapter, and Bolerjack will describe the troubling life of Lee, backed by testimonials from comic book veterans and industry insiders.

However, Bolerjack’s name has also been associated with several other famous projects. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has contributed to Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey and the social media marketing campaign for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. While this is surely impressive, he has also worked on Deadpool 2.

He was involved in the Bob Ross-inspired promo trailer via YouTube for the film and is now shifting all the focus back to Stan Lee and his life. In the documentary trailer, Bolerjack mentioned that the late legend’s situation was heartbreaking to witness. Similar sentiments were shared by other figures, including Rob Liefeld, Roy Thomas, and Tyler Kirkham.

The public will have to wait for the full movie to be released to form an opinion on the matter. However, in the past, Stan Lee’s declining health was the subject of a 2018 Hollywood Reporter investigation, which suggested that Lee was a victim of elder abuse.

While not much is currently known in this regard, Bolerjack’s documentary seeks to present what actually happened.

J.K. Simmons revealed the reason why Stan Lee was once jealous

J.K. Simmons has earned immense respect in the industry for his unforgettable performance as J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. But what many fans don’t know is that Stan Lee once admitted to feeling a tinge of jealousy over the casting. More than two decades after stepping into the role, Simmons recalled one of the greatest compliments of his life.

In an interview with GQ, the Oscar-winning actor mentioned that Stan Lee had confessed he secretly hoped to play Jameson himself. Simmons said, “When we finally spoke, he admitted he was a little jealous that they didn’t ask him to play the part in the movie.”

Lee was known for his signature cameos in Marvel films, and he believed that Jameson’s tough, gruff, and over-the-top confidence mirrored aspects of his own character. But after watching Simmons bring the role to life, Lee had a change of heart. He called the actor “fantastic,” and for Simmons, it was “a great, great compliment.”

While Lee may not have played the role on screen, his legacy lives on in every corner of the Marvel universe.
