Shark Tank’s Mark Cuban: “I would crush” Donald Trump If I Ran For President

In the business and political world, there are rarely feuds as interesting as the one between Mark Cuban and Donald Trump. The Shark Tank judge leaves no stone unturned in criticizing Trump, whether it be about his billionaire status or his reforms. Even during the presidential elections, he strongly supported Trump’s opponent, Kamala Harris, and even campaigned for her.

While the results obviously weren’t in his favor, he has once again proved that nothing will stop him from talking about politics. In an interview, he confidently asserted that if he were to enter the presidential race, he would have no trouble defeating Trump.

Mark Cuban on why he could easily defeat Donald Trump in a presidential race

When it comes to stating his opinion, Mark Cuban has never been one to shy away. Whether it be his excellent business acumen or his political views, the venture capitalist has always adopted a no-nonsense attitude. If he feels something is not right, he is the first person to call it out—just as he did when the Dallas Mavericks made the decision to trade Luka Dončić.

He brought forth the same demeanor in 2015 and boldly claimed in an interview via CNBC, “If it was me vs. Trump, I would crush him. No doubt about it.” This statement definitely holds weight, given that Cuban himself has a massive fan following. This was evident when he initially joined Shark Tank as a guest judge in Season 2 (2011), and due to his immense popularity, he was brought in as a regular in Season 3.

Apart from this, his billion-dollar business empire further solidifies his influence. However, according to him, what sets him apart from the current President of the United States is his understanding of how modern political messaging works. Instead of relying on traditional speeches and press conferences like most politicians, Cuban believes in dominating digital platforms.

It’s safe to say that if Cuban does step onto the campaign trail in the future, he could definitely shake things up with his strategy and knowledge.

Shark Tank judges on Mark Cuban leaving the show

It came as a huge shock to many when Mark Cuban made the decision to step back from Shark Tank after Season 16. He had been a huge part of the show for more than a decade, and just like the fans, even his co-stars are heartbroken. The most affected was Barbara Corcoran, who admitted in an interview via The Wrap, “It’s like losing a brother. It’s terrible.”

Kevin O’Leary added that Cuban’s departure didn’t come as a surprise to him, as he had been talking about leaving the show for years. However, despite understanding Cuban’s reasons, he couldn’t help but acknowledge the loss. Robert Herjavec took a more lighthearted approach than the rest, saying that Cuban’s presence would still be felt even after he leaves.

Jokingly, he added, “Will he ever really be gone? With 8,000 investments, there will be updates every week.” Lori Greiner described the moment as heartbreaking, saying, “I love and adore him. I can’t even imagine this show without him.” Lastly, Daymond John reflected on the pivotal role Cuban played in Shark Tank’s early success.

He appreciated Cuban for bringing mainstream attention to the show and turning it into a major platform for budding entrepreneurs. While his departure has certainly broken many hearts, it’s safe to say that the public is equally eager to see what his next venture will be.
