The striker was left out last Tuesday with red-trape delaying his move from England to Scotland.
But his club, Ipswich Town, confirmed the news on Sunday evening.
The wrote: “George Hirst has been called up for international duty by Scotland for the first time!
“Congratulations, Hirsty!”
Sunsport first revealed Hirst was being eyed for a place in the Scotland set-up last JULY.
Clarke watched the frontman score against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup earlier this month, but red-tape denied him being included in the selection announced last week.
However the administration work with Fifa and Uefa is now complete and Hirst – son f former Sheffield Wednesday and Southampton striker David – has been given the green-light to switch allegiance.
