Rangers risk SFA punishment after Mo Diomande copies Ryan Kent’s infamous ‘gun’ celebration in front of Celtic fans

RANGERS went into the half time break 2-0 up against Celtic at Parkhead.

A great opening 45 minutes for the away side started with a quick fire Nicolas Raskin goal after four minutes.

And Morelos made his own fine-worthy gesture

The Belgian rose highest at the front post to give Barry Ferguson‘s men a shock early lead.

But the Gers continued to dominate and could’ve added to their lead through Vaclav Cerny‘s chance when he faced an open goal, but the winger failed to get his shot off in time.

The second goal did come eventually however, when Mohamed Diomande netted just under ten minutes from the break.

After neat play down the right, Raskin nodded a crossed ball onto his team mate who took a touch before dispatching into the bottom corner.

But his celebration has put his side at risk of PUNISHMENT from the SFA.

As the midfielder wheeled away in celebration he covered his face before pointing his fingers to the Celtic crowd as he gestured firing a gun.

And the governing body could be called into action, not for the first time in recent years.

Rangers were fined TWICE for the celebrations of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent back in 2020 during a clash with Celtic.

Kent made a similar ‘gun’ sign towards the crowd while Morelos made a ‘throat cut’ gesture after he was sent off.

And although the club pleaded the innocence of their players, they were subsequently fined £10, 000.

At the time, the club released a statement saying: “Rangers are astounded by the notices of complaint issued by the SFA

“It is concerning that it seems the governing body is seeking to hold Rangers to a different and more stringent code of conduct than that applied to others, with unprecedented charges being levied against the club.

“Rangers fans can be assured that it is our firm intention to resist the charges in the most robust manner possible.”
