SHOPPERS are being urged to check the opening times of their local supermarkets during the St Patrick’s Day Bank Holiday.
And Aldi has revealed its opening hours for all 163 stores across Ireland will change slightly during the busy bank holiday weekend.


The retailer will remain open during the three busy days of the weekend, ensuring customers can access their essentials during the festivity.
However, the times it will open and close its doors will change slightly.
Aldi stores will remain open from 8am to 10pm on Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sunday as usual.
On St Patrick’s Day, the popular supermarket will open its doors between 9am and 9pm.
Regular opening hours will resume from 8am on Tuesday.
However, it is recommended that customers check details of the local opening hours on the website to avoid disappointment, as some stores‘ hours may vary slightly.
Aldi Ireland’s stores in Swords and Dunshaughlin will open from 10am to 9pm on St Patrick’s Day, and Mulhuddart will open from 9am to 7pm.
The Laytown store in Co Meath will open later on the day, from 11am until 7pm.
The supermarket has revealed that Saturday, March 16, is expected to be the busiest shopping day over the St Patrick’s Bank Holiday weekend.
They predict that 8am to 10am and 7pm to 10pm will be the quietest times for customers to pick up their shopping on that day.
And 9am to 11am and 7pm to 9pm will be the quietest period for shopping on Sunday and Monday.
During peak hours, the supermarkets are expected to be packed, with many shoppers making last-minute purchases for the festivity.
The middle-aisle range will also include a selection of festive Irish decorations to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
ST PATRICK’S DAY ROAD CLOSURES
Elsewhere, a number of roads across Dublin are set to be closed on Monday as the St Patrick’s Day parade takes place.
Ireland’s largest St Patrick’s Day parade is due to start on Monday, March 17 at 12pm.
The route will start at Granby Row before turning onto Parnell Square North and taking the turn for the east side.
It will then travel down O’Connell Street and Westmoreland Street before turning onto Dame Street and Lord Edward Street.
The parade will then turn onto Nicholas Street and Patrick Street before finishing by turning to Kevin Street and reaching St Stephen’s Green.
Each of these streets will be closed off for a portion of the day as the parade travels through.
