Popular Dublin venue hits St Patrick’s revellers with over-the-top entry prices as tickets could cost €150 for event

SOME ST Patrick’s Day revellers will fork out over-the-top prices just to gain entry to venues across Dublin tonight.

And those heading out on Harcourt Street could hand over as much as €150 to celebrate the day in Diceys nightclub.

The majority of people who will be partying in the venue tonight managed to get cheaper tickets online, ranging from €1-€30, by snapping them up early.

However, the venue warned that, due to its tiered pricing system based on early-purchase and early-entry, some punters could face a €150 entry fee for the almost sold-out event.

A spokesperson for Diceys told the Irish Sun: “Tickets for St Patrick’s Day are 90 per cent sold out.

“For St Patrick’s Day, we still have limited early-entry tickets available on the website for €1, for entry before 5pm, or €10, for entry before 9pm, €30, for entry before 10pm or €60 for entry at any time.

“Once tickets at these tiers sell out, prices will increase as per the different tiers.”

The popular venue explained that the tiered pricing system is in place every week, allowing some customers to buy a ticket in advance for as little as €1 as long as they enter the club before 5pm.

Diceys said the system gives it a “better idea” of expected customer numbers and allows them to ensure they have the “optimal” number of staff working and stock on site.

This allows the nightclub to reduce queue times and avoid running out of any popular drinks on the night.

Diceys also added that the specific price-point can increase or decrease depending on if the venue has any special events or promotions running.

It said: “For St Patricks weekend, initial tickets were offered back in February at price points beginning at as little as €1 initially.

“Once tickets at those rates sold out, others were released at €5, then €10, €20, €30, €50, €60, €80, €100, and €150. Tickets were available for purchase for the 14th, 15th, 16th or 17th of March.

“These higher price-point tickets are standard procedure for any of our other special events such as Halloween, NYE, or international festivals.”

At the time of writing, tickets for all night entry into Diceys tonight will cost punters €60 – but that price could increase to as much as €150 later on.

Diceys said a lot of tickets for St Patrick’s weekend sold “straight away” after they first went up for grabs in February.

DRINK PRICES

Guinness, Bulmers, Hophouse and Cornona Extra pints on draught will cost €5 all night.

Pints of Heineken draught will cost more, with Diceys confirming that they are priced at €9 each.

A spokesperson said: “These deals on premium drinks are available for customers in all five of our venues, for the whole day and night, compared to areas of Temple Bar where these drinks can cost customers €14 or €15 or more.”

Diceys is also providing bottle service offers, where a bottle of Moet could set punters back €90.

A bottle of 70cl premium brand spirits, such as Gordons Gin, Smirnoff Vodka, Jack Daniels or Captain Morgan, will set revellers back €70 – with five mixers of the customers choice included in the price.

And, in response to requests from American customers, Diceys confirmed it is now providing a 70cl bottle of the popular La Chica Gold Tequila for €130 including 5 soda waters tonight.

The Dublin venue said the offers have been a “great success” so far this weekend, adding that they are getting a new delivery after selling out of Guinness and La Chica Gold Tequila on Saturday night.

The nightclub also said that the majority of ticket holders are customers visiting Ireland from countries like the USA, UK, Germany, Scotland, France, Spain, Brazil and Mexico.

Each ticket will offer customers access to all five venues, Diceys Garden, Diceys Basement, the balcony, the penthouse, and the VIP suite from midday to 2.30am.

Diceys said: “The fact that we provide one of the largest open-air late bar and nightclub venues in Dublin and Europe is also something that our international customers love.

“For special events such as St Patricks Weekend or NYE etc, not only do we have special lighting designed, but we bring in special DJs or musicians who will feature in specific areas too.

FOOD FROM €5

“Each of these venues will offer different music styles, with DJs playing traditional Irish music, Reggaeton, R&B, House, 80s/90s, and Bollywood music among others.

“Additionally, on St Patrick’s Weekend we will offer full carvery meals for customers from 12pm to 4pm for €15 – or kids meal for €10.

“After this time, BBQ food will be on offer for €5 all day and night from 4pm to 2.30am.”

And, with nearly 80 per cent of Diceys customers this weekend expected to be tourists from America, the nightclub said that it hopes US President Donald Trump will appreciate their offers.

The Diceys spokesperson added: “We hope Donald Trump appreciates that we offered these deals to his citizens tariff-free, enabling them to get value for money with celebrations all day across St Patrick’s weekend.”
