X-Men ’97 has proven to be one of the most successful series from the Marvel Universe, being a continuation of the original The Animated Series from the late 1990s. Before it even became the highest-rated Marvel Disney+ series to date, the show had its second season in the works, though this raised questions about the fate of the saga when the showrunner behind it was fired.

However, fans finally need to rest assured about the existence of the second season because a major update about the series has just been released by one of the voice actors of the lore, Lenore Zann. For one, fans might as well brace themselves for some peak action and storytelling incoming because not the second, but the third season of the saga has gotten a mother of all updates!
X-Men ’97 gets a major update for its third season

Since showrunner Beau DeMayo was surprisingly let go shortly before the season one premiere of X-Men ’97, fans had some serious doubts about the making of the second season as they feared it may get axed despite the show faring so tremendously among audiences worldwide. However, Rogue voice actor Lenore Zann has just dropped a bombshell update about the same.
During the recently held Indiana Comic Convention, moderated by Collider, the voice actress confirmed not only the existence of season 2 but even came clean that they were going to start working on the third season super soon as well. Zann said,
I’m about to start to go into the studio next week to start on season three, so I’ve got lots to look forward to.
Needless to say, that does make it clear that fans have some really peak action and epic storylines incoming soon with two seasons on the way. But there’s also the question about Marvel Studios’ Disney+ slate for 2025, which notably had X-Men ’97 missing from the list. However, fans don’t need to worry about that either, for Zann confirmed Season 2 is “coming out in 2026.“
That is, indeed, a super long run, for 2025 has only just begun. But, of course, the studios aren’t letting fans get bored throughout this time, for they had other content lined up in the meanwhile to deliver beyond fans’ expectations. This includes the likes of the recently concluded Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man and the currently ongoing Daredevil: Born Again.
Fans react to X-Men ’97 season 3 bombshell update

Fans had long been clamoring to get a second season of X-Men ’97, since season 1 concluded its airing on the screens nearly a year ago. So getting the news that not only the second but even the third season of their beloved series is about to go into production soon was nothing short of exciting, as the buzz surrounding the animated saga now seems to be louder than ever.
For one, while some are expressing their sincere hype about the same, sharing how they can’t wait for the show to once again grace their screens, others are hoping that the waiting period between the second and third seasons is relatively lesser as compared to the first and second ones. All in all, taking to X, here’s how they have been reacting to this news:
