One of Prince Harry’s Exes Just Announced a New Project & It Might Be Competition for Meghan Markle

Just last week, Meghan Markle announced her new podcast with Lemonada Media titled Confessions of a Female Founder. But while we wait for the first episode to come out on April 8, one of Prince Harry’s exes has launched a podcast of her own too.

On March 19, model and actress Cressida Bonas, who dated Harry from 2012 to 2014, announced her new podcast, Lessons From Our Mothers, with her sister, Isabella Branson.

“Have you ever stopped to think about the maternal figures in your life and how they have shaped who you are today?” the hosts wrote in the Instagram announcement. “Have you ever asked them about their own experiences, or thought about the lessons that you have learned from them?”

Lessons From Our Mothers is a series of conversations that celebrate motherhood and mothering in all its forms,” the description continued. “When our own mum fell ill last year, we set out to ask her all the questions that we had never thought to ask – and now, we’re on a sisterly mission to find out the stories of some special guests (and their mothers) through this podcast.”

“There’s been some laughter, some tears and a lot of wisdom…and cake with Mary Berry, of course 🍰,” they continued.

From the video, fans can already recognize some familiar faces. In addition to The Great British Bake Off‘s Mary Berry, Bonas and Branson also interviewed Matthew McConaughey’s wife Camilla Alves, Kate Winslet, and many others.

Perhaps the most surprising appearance is Princess Eugenie. After all, the royal and her husband Jack Brooksbank have long been friends with Markle and Harry, even before their marriage. So, having Eugenie in this podcast showing support for Bonas either shows some tension between the Sussexes and her, or just how mature they’ve become.

In one clip, Bonas asks Eugenie about the biggest lesson she’s learned from her mom, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson. “I think for me, it’s the fire inside,” Eugenie responds. “The strength inside of you, and how to pull that out and how to pull it in when you most need it.”

Lessons From Our Mothers will premiere next Sunday, March 30, just one week away from Markle’s premiere.

As a reminder, Markle’s podcast will talk to accomplished businesswomen about their ups and downs. “I’ve been having candid conversations with amazing women who have turned dreams into realities, and scaled small ideas into massively successful businesses,” she teased of the show on Instagram. “They’re opening up, sharing their tips, tricks (and tumbles), and letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business, As ever.”

While we don’t think Bonas’ project was made to compete with Markle’s, or vice versa, we couldn’t help but make the connection. But with Bonas focusing on motherhood and family stories and Markle taking the entrepreneurship route, here’s hoping they don’t get in each other’s way.
