One Character Can Match Jeff’s Adorable Mayhem and Marvel Rivals Needs to Bring Him in Now

Let’s face it—Marvel Rivals has given us plenty of heroes to love (and hate), but none quite as divisive as Jeff the Land Shark. This adorable yet terrifying Strategist has been swallowing entire teams with his ultimate ability since the game launched, leaving players both charmed and traumatized.

But there’s another furry friend from Marvel’s roster who could give Jeff a run for his money in the “cute but deadly” department. A character who’s already won hearts in the MCU and could bring a whole new dimension of adorable chaos to NetEase Games’ hero shooter.

And no, we’re not talking about Howard the Duck. We’re talking about someone with a much wetter nose and a significantly better “good boy” status.

The telepathic space dog Marvel Rivals desperately needs

If you’ve seen the Guardians of the Galaxy films, you’ve already met MCU’s female version of the character who could be Jeff’s perfect rival in Marvel Rivals—Cosmo, the telepathic soviet space dog who serves as Knowhere’s security chief.

Just imagine the possibilities. While Jeff terrorizes enemies by literally eating them whole, Cosmo could wreak havoc with mind-control abilities that leave opponents confused and disoriented. The potential for a Strategist hero who combines healing with crowd control is too good to pass up.

The beauty of Cosmo is that his telepathic abilities offer endless gameplay possibilities. He could heal allies by projecting calming thoughts, disorient enemies with psychic blasts, or even temporarily take control of an opponent.

And let’s be honest—watching a dog in a space suit floating around the battlefield would be endlessly entertaining.

Of course, the real magic would happen when Cosmo and Jeff team up. Imagine the chaos of a Land Shark and Space Dog combo—one swallowing enemies whole while the other scrambles their brains. It would be the most adorable nightmare fuel in gaming history.

Why Cosmo would complete the Guardians lineup

Beyond just being an amazing character in his own right, adding Cosmo would bring us one step closer to completing the Guardians of the Galaxy roster in Marvel Rivals.

With Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, Mantis, and Adam Warlock already playable, adding Cosmo (and eventually Drax and Gamora) would open up possibilities for some truly spectacular team-up abilities. Just imagine a “Dance Off” ultimate that forces nearby enemies to bust a move while taking damage.

There’s just one tiny problem with adding Cosmo to the game—nobody would want to fight him! How could anyone bring themselves to attack such a good boy? It would be like kicking a puppy, except the puppy can read your mind and make you think you’re a chicken.

A valid point. The emotional damage of hearing Cosmo whimper after taking damage might be too much for players to bear. NetEase would need to find a clever workaround—perhaps Cosmo could project a psychic shield that makes it clear you’re not actually hurting the dog, just disrupting his telepathic field.

Would you want to see Cosmo join the Marvel Rivals roster? And which other animal heroes deserve a spot in the game? Let us know in the comments!
