McDonald’s to axe three items from menu in DAYS in latest shake-up – see the full list

MCDONALD’S is axing three items as part of a major menu shake up next week.

The changes will happen at the same time the fast food giant launches its new Minecraft-themed menu.

As part of the shake-up, McDonald’s fans will say goodbye to a popular shake and McFlurry on March 25.

Among the items leaving is the Shamrock Shake, which was added to the menu in honour of St Patrick’s Day.

It appeared in restaurants for the first time on March 12 after only previously being available in the US.

It features soft-serve ice cream with peppermint-flavoured syrup.

It costs £2.19 for a small, £2.69 for a medium and £3.09 for a large respectively, although prices can vary between restaurants.

Also leaving the menu is the popular Mars McFlurry.

The tasty treat is made from dairy ice cream which is swirled with crunchy chocolate-covered nougat pieces and topped with caramel sauce.

It costs £2.19 for the regular size or £1.69 for the mini version.

Meanwhile, the Mozzarella Dippers are also set to be axed next week.

The delicious snack is made from sticks of Mozzarella cheese which are coated in breadcrumbs and served with a salsa dip.

It costs around £2.49.

It is common for the fast-food giant to shake up what is sold across its 1,300 UK restaurants to make way for new items.

Menus are often updated every few months or in line with certain events such as Easter or Christmas.

Just because an item is discontinued does not mean it is gone for good.

How to save at McDonald’s

You could end up being charged more for a McDonald’s meal based solely on the McDonald’s restaurant you choose.

Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.

You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald’s receipts.

The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.

You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.

There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.

The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.

You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.

The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details – otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.

For example, last year the McRib reappeared in restaurants after a ten year wait.

Minecraft menu

McDonald’s is adding three new items to its menu next week in a huge shake up.

The fast food chain has unveiled new food, toys and collectables based on the iconic Minecraft video game.

From March 26 fans will be able to get their hands on the new Apple Cake McFlurry, “Nether Flame” hot sauce and Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers.

The McFlurry will combine soft dairy ice cream with apple and shortcake pieces.

It will be topped with a sour apple sauce.

A mini will cost £1.69 while a regular size will set you back £2.19.

The Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers will be available for a limited time only.

It will be made from mozzarella cheese infused with garlic and chives which is wrapped in a ciabatta-style breadcrumb coating.

It will be served with a tomato dip.

It will be available as four pieces or a sharebox, though McDonald’s has not yet confirmed how much it will cost.

Meanwhile, the new “Nether Flame” hot sauce is inspired by the Minecraft game.

McDonald’s menu changes

McDonald’s is making big changes to its menu next week. Among the items joining the menu are:

  • Minecraft Movie Meal – £8.19
  • Nether Flame Sauce
  • Apple Cake McFlurry – £2.19
  • Apple Cake McFlurry Mini – £1.69
  • Minecraft Happy Meal – £3.99
  • Garlic Bread Dippers – price to be confirmed

The sauce will come with the new Minecraft Movie Meal, which will feature a Big Mac, nine McNuggests or four veggie dippers.

You will also get the choice of a side and carbonated drink and an exclusive collectable toy.

There will be six collectables on offer including the Grimace Egg, Zombie Hamburglar, Birdie Wings, Fry Helmet, Soda Potion and Big Mac Crystal.

The meal will be available in a medium or large size and prices will start from £8.19.

The home of the golden arches is also launching a Minecraft Happy Meal, which will cost around £3.99.

The meal will be available from March 26 for a limited time only.

Every happy meal will come with one of 12 branded new toys including film characters such as Evoker, Bee, Skeleton, Sheep and Creeper.

The meal will also include a Minecraft Adventures book which is full of activities for kids.

We put the new menu to the test at an exclusive event in central London.
