Lassen County Hosts 7th Annual Family Connections Conference for Community Enrichment

The Lassen County Office of Education (LCOE) collaborated with Sierra Cascade Family Opportunities for the 7th Annual Family Connections Conference, held on March 15th at Jensen Hall, Lassen County Fairgrounds. This complimentary event invited parents, grandparents, foster parents, childcare providers, and caregivers to engage in a day dedicated to learning, connection, and family enrichment.

With the theme “Creating a Connected Family,” guest speakers Kjessie and Andre Essue facilitated discussions aimed at strengthening family bonds. The conference attracted over 95 attendees, offering them insights and tools to build strong, connected relationships with children.

Participants engaged in various activities and accessed community resources throughout the day, including:

  • Herb planting with CalFresh Healthy Living, allowing families to take home plants to nurture.
  • A lunch catered by Snow Mountain Chalet.
  • A resource fair with local organizations providing family support and services.
  • A vision board activity for setting personal and family goals, accompanied by special gifts.

James Hall, Director of Student, Family and Community Engagement, expressed enthusiasm about the event, highlighting its significance in offering families a platform to learn and connect. Gratitude was extended to Sierra Cascade Family Opportunities and other partners for their contributions.

The Lassen County Office of Education appreciates all participants and contributors to the conference’s success and looks forward to ongoing support for Lassen County families. For more information on upcoming events and resources, visit lcoe.org.
