John Cena’s recent heel turn has shocked the WWE Universe. It felt as if they were never ready to accept their favorite babyface as a heel. Very few characters in the history of WWE have been the good guys for such a long time. Cena possibly eclipsed all other babyface reigns, and eventually, in his farewell tour, he decided to bring out the most iconic twist of all time.
Delivering a low blow to Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, John Cena joined forces with The Rock ahead of WrestleMania 41. Earlier, what was thought to be a straightforward battle of two of the greatest wrestlers for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 has now turned into an iconic storyline that may have already taken flight.

With every heel turn, if there is one particular element which gets dragged into the storyline, that is the personal life of a superstar. Now John Cena’s personal life has always been kept away from the radar because of his clean run. However, there were always rumours of him being on the wrong side of the spectrum, pertaining to his relationship tales.
Did John Cena cheat on Elizabeth Huberdeau?

After his infamous heel turn, John Cena’s past started getting dug out by the fans. There were famous memes doing the rounds on internet which claimed that this was the second time that he turned heel. The first time was an off-ring show where he exhibited his ugly side to his then girl-friend, Nikki Bella.
However, Cena’s personal life has always been a topic of discussion. John Cena married Elizabeth Huberdeau in 2009, and the couple was happy for the next three years. Things seemed pretty okay with the two until, in 2012, Cena was spotted with other female industry superstars. Tensions between the two started to rise, and eventually, they went their separate ways.
Rumours state that before his marriage, John Cena was romantically linked with fellow WWE superstar Mickie James. The couple was reportedly dating in 2007 or early 2008, which somehow happened to coincide with Cena getting engaged with Elizabeth as well. The rumours delve deeper, as it is also said that James was dating WWE superstar Kenny Dykstra at that point in time.
According to the report, once John Cena and Mickie James got secretly involved, apparently John Cena used his power to drive Dykstra out of WWE. Despite all the drama, Cena decided to marry Elizabeth and eventually end his relationship with Mickie. In an interview with AfterBuzz TV, Mickie James later confessed that it is the nature of the profession that they have which has a major impact on their lives.

John Cena had an on-screen romance brewing with AJ Lee back in 2012, and it is stated that somehow, the couple got involved in a real-life romance as well, thereby triggering the divorce between John and Elizabeth. However, the veracity of this statement was never proved. Cena then started dating Nikki Bella, and the couple was engaged until the latter decided to call off the engagement after a mismatch of opinions on children. John Cena is now married to Shay Shariatzadeh, and the couple has been together since 2020.
John Cena left the world in shock after his heel turn

In Elimination Chamber, when John Cena attacked Cody Rhodes, the world could only tremble in apprehension. This turn in his character and that too at the fag end of his career, however, opened up a multiverse of possibilities. Now on the Road to WrestleMania, the fan theories have been popping up like crazy.
Cena’s flip as a heel has been rated highly in the antiquity of all those heel turns while drawing comparisons with the defection of Seth Rollins from the Shield to the Authority. In an interview with ESPN, Rollins opened up, stating that he would do it again if given a chance.
As the final stride to WrestleMania gears up, John Cena is eyeing that 17th title. There are reports that he might even face interference from the likes of Ric Flair and Stone Cold Steve Austin, who will be siding with Cody Rhodes to play the final line of defense between good and evil, as WWE would like to portray it.
WrestleMania 41 is scheduled on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, at 7 ET/4 PT, streaming LIVE on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else.
