Invincible season 3 finally debuted Conquest, a much-anticipated character. And I was surprised to find out that he was voiced by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. But even more surprising was his awesome performance in the series.
After watching his voice acting as Conquest, I am convinced that no one else is more suited to play an intimidating villain in One Piece. No, not in the anime’s English dub, but in Netflix’s upcoming seasons for the One Piece live-action remake.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s performance in Invincible season 3 can open the doors to more opportunities

In Invincible season 3, episode 7, Conquest finally made his debut. But I was more excited about Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s stellar delivery as the voice actor of the character. His appearance in the series was unexpected, but it was a pleasant surprise. Morgan channeled a gravelly and intimidating voice, which is quite unlike the previous characters he has played.
This gives me the idea that Jeffrey Dean Morgan would serve as the perfect voice actor for Kaido, one of the most powerful villains in One Piece. And since there is a high chance that Netflix will keep producing more seasons of the series, it is the perfect time to speculate about who should voice Kaido.

Kaido is an intense character, to say the least. He commands obedience and, to date, stands as a memorable villain. After all, he pushed Luffy to his limits till he acquired Gear 5. The signature intensity of Morgan in roles like Negan from The Walking Dead is exactly what Kaido needs. The powerful voice of Morgan is best suited to playing the overwhelming dominance that Kaido evokes.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be the perfect Kaido, but not in the flesh
Yes, Morgan is perfect to elevate the character of Kaido. He would be able to blend menace and charisma to create Kaido’s character. However, he should not play Kaido as an actor. Rather, he is best suited to be a voice actor. That is mostly owing to the fact that casting Morgan as Kaido would be whitewashing the character.

Kaido is influenced by Japanese culture and mythology, making him impossible to be played by a white man. His design, mannerisms, and inspiration from samurai and yokai folklore necessitate an Asian actor for the sake of authenticity. But with the correct usage of CGI-enhanced transformations combined with Morgan’s booming voice, the terrifying presence of Kaido could be brought to life.
This would ensure that Kaido’s cultural representation goes uncompromised. Morgan has already shown his bandwidth as a voice actor in the finale of Invincible season 3. What he needs right now are more villainous voiceovers. In terms of sheer aura, Kaido is the closest to Conquest.
Invincible is available to stream on Prime Video. One Piece live-action is currently streaming on Netflix.
