Huge stars who ended up homeless from Hollywood actor found in a squat to En Vogue singer living in her car


MANY huge stars have found themselves homeless or broke over the years.

Despite having had glowing careers in music, television or film – some stars have suffered troubling times that resulted in them going from glamorous lives to being homeless.

From a Hollywood actor found in a squat and a movie legend who slept in a cardboard box, The U.S. Sun is looking at some of the biggest stars who have run into bad luck.

Danny Bonaduce

Danny from The Partridge Family experienced homelessness after he endured some rehab stints.

The actor played the role of Danny Partridge in the series that was about a widowed mother and her five kids who formed a band and made a hit record.

Speaking to Oprah, Danny spoke about being famous and homeless at the same time – and how jarring that felt.

“I was still famous and people had no idea I lived behind the dumpster… I’d be taking pictures with people and signing autographs,” he said.

“So, I was homeless in Hollywood, which, by the way, is as good a place as any,” Danny went on.

He also said that it was “totally embarrassing” to be famous and homeless at the same time.

Danny since recovered and has co-hosted The Danny Bonaduce & Sarah Morning Show from 2011 until 2023.

Randy Quaid

Randy is known for starring in The Midnight Express and Of Mice And Men.

The actor appeared in more than 90 films throughout his career, but despite his glowing list of film and television credits, he faced financial troubles.

Randy married his wife in 1989 and in 2010 they were arrested for squatting[/caption]

Randy and his wife Evi, whom he married in 1989, were charged for not paying hotel bills which totalled over $10,000.

The esteemed actor then started squatting in the guest house of a property he and his wife used to own.

In 2010, Reuters reported the couple had been arrested for squatting.

“The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department said that Quaid and his wife Evi insisted they owned the house, but a representative for the home owner produced documents proving the house now belonged to his client,” they reported.

Margot Kidder

Margot played the role of Lois Lane in the original Superman movies in the 70s and 80s.

She also played Kathy Lutz in The Amityville Horror in 1979.

She sadly died at the age of 69 in 2018[/caption]

But despite he starring roles and accolades including accolades two Canadian Film Awards, an Emmy Award, a Genie Award and a Saturn Award, Margot still had her struggles.

People previously reported that Margot battled poor mental health and refused to get treatment for it.

The outlet also claims how she slept in cardboard boxes and backyards in Los Angeles in 1996.

She died at the age of 69.

Brett Butler

Brett was known for her role in ABC sitcom Grace Under Fire, for which she played the title role and received two Golden Globe Awards nominations for.

As she starred in the show, Brett became addicted to drugs.

Brett gave up fame and moved to a farm[/caption]

The show was canceled in 1998, with Brett moving from LA to Georgia.

Giving up fame, Brett moved to a farm and resided with 15 pets until her money ran out.

She then moved to a homeless shelter, and in 2021 a GoFundMe page was set up as she was evicted from her apartment.

Brett has recently been trying to relaunch her career by developing a reality show and performing at the Downtown Comedy Club.

Dawn Robinson

Dawn, 58, was one of the founding members of En Vogue, but recently revealed her homeless situation and how she has been sleeping in her car.

She stayed with the band until 1997 when En Vogue disbanded, and now, 28 years on she is homeless and living in a car.

“For the past three years, almost three years, I have been living in my car.

“I said it, oh my God, it’s out,” she said on YouTube.

Dawn then spoke about how she was living with her mom in 2020, but she “became very angry” and started to take her anger out on her.

“I was her target all the time and I was like, ‘I can’t deal with this.’ Like, I respect her too much. I didn’t understand it I still don’t, It hurt me.”

She explained how she needed to get out of the situation, so started sleeping in her car for about a month while in Vegas.

At first she was living in a hotel, but this wasn’t feasible, so Dawn looked into “van life, car life, RV life” and wanted to live life off the grid.

“I ended up in my car, and it’s been like I said, three years,” she said.

Loni Willison

In 2023, it was revealed that Loni was living rough on the streets in Los Angeles.

Shocking pictures two years ago showed her dragging a huge cart filled with her possessions.

Loni – who is unrecognizable from her glam blond bombshell days – has been homeless for several years.

She was previously spotted rummaging in the bins for food.

It followed a messy divorce from Baywatch actor Jeremy Jackson nine years ago and reported drug and alcohol abuse, which she has denied.
