In Helldivers 2, players always come face to face with a variety of hostile factions, who are ready to make life miserable. One of the most relentless factions is the Automatons, who aren’t shy about swarming players with waves of enemies and getting too close to comfort with their melee attacks.

These enemies typically spawn from dropships or Fabricator factories. Much like those pesky bug holes, these factories will keep churning out Troopers until they’re destroyed. So, if you find one during your mission, don’t just sit there watching the chaos unfold, take them out.
To help with that, here’s everything you need to know about finding, spotting, and shutting down Automaton Fabricators Factories quickly and efficiently.
How to Shut Down Automaton Fabricator Factories in Helldivers 2

In order to shut down these factories, players first need to find and spot them. Automaton Fabricators are typically found in enemy-controlled outposts or fortified areas. These factories play a central role as they produce Troopers endlessly.
The most obvious signs of a Fabricator are its pair of exhausts emitting smoke and the open door, which is visible from a distance. The door is where the Troopers exit from, and once it opens, more enemies will spawn, giving you a clear indication of its active presence.
Once you’ve spotted one, it’s time to spread some democracy. Thankfully, Super Earth provides several weapons and stratagems to help you accomplish just that. Here are the best tools to take these factories out:
- Long-Range Support Weapons: The best ones have to be the AC-8 Autocannon and GL-21 Grenade Launcher. Precision is crucial here, so ensure you’re facing the vents directly for the ricochet to work correctly. Even EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank, LAS-99 Quasar Cannon, and GR-8 Recoilless Rifle works like a charm.
- Grenades: Grenades can be a bit tricky, as players need to get close enough to throw them directly into the vents. The best approach is to aim for the lower lip of the vent, as the grenade will rise slightly and enter the structure.
- Orbital Strikes and Hellpods: If you don’t want to get close, these can be very effective. Orbital Laser Strike is particularly useful in areas with heavy enemy outposts and as for the Hellbombs, you can also throw them directly onto the structure for a direct hit. Eagle Payloads such as Airstrikes and 500kg Bombs can also work well.
One thing to remember: At higher difficulty levels, Fabricators may spawn in pairs. So the value of Orbital Strikes and Hellpods increases a lot as they can cause enough collateral damage to destroy the other as well.
In the end, always stay on the lookout for these Fabricator factories. By efficiently destroying them, you’ll stop the Automatons from gaining the upper hand, securing a glorious victory for your team.
