After leaving Today, Hoda Kotb has already got to work on her next project — and it involves a familiar face!
Hoda, 60, revealed that she is teaming up with home renovation star Joanna Gaines for something new. The pair appeared in photos together, which were shared on the Today alum’s Instagram account on Wednesday, February 5.
“Remember i was talking about repotting—- gotta take first steps….We have something fun cooking! Come along on the great adventure…..Stay tunedI love @joannagaines,” Hoda wrote alongside the pictures.
In the photos, Hoda and Joanna, 46, were seen hugging and smiling as a camera crew followed them around. The pair then chatted with a laptop in front of them, and what appeared to be some swatches of different kinds of fabrics and different types of wood laid out on the table.
The caption of the post is referencing the term “repotting,” which Hoda used to describe this new chapter of her life after moving into a new home in the suburbs and leaving Today.
“I feel like I’m in this repotting phase of my life,” the broadcaster said during a previous episode of her “Making Space” podcast. “I just feel it. I feel like my roots need a bigger pot, in all kinds of things. I’m physically moving with my kids, which was a big deal for us, because it’s easy not to move because friends and this and that.”
Moving to a new place with her daughters, Haley and Hope, was the first step in Hoda’s repotting journey after turning 60 on August 9, 2024.
“When I found this spot that I liked, a little town that had all the things that could teach my kids independence, I told my kids, ‘We’re repotting.’ They’re like, ‘What? We’re moving?’ I go, ‘Yeah, but we’re repotting,’” she explained.
Her departure from Today came in January, and now she’s focusing her time on her family and her other passions. One could only hope that we’ll get to see Hoda and Joanna team up on a renovation project for the NBC personality’s new home. But only time will tell! Fans were thrilled to see their favorites come together to work on something new, regardless if it’s a home improvement project or not.
“What great collaborators! Cant wait to see what you two have instore,” one person commented on Hoda’s Instagram post.
Another person wrote, “Oh, I can’t wait to see what you two are up to! I love this combo!”
“The suspense is killing me! Miss seeing you in the mornings, but I’m so very happy for you,” another person wrote, while another said, “Can’t wait to see whatever you do next…..I know it will be wonderful! Just can’t wait to see you, your beautiful energy & enthusiasm is so missed!”
As for how her new house is coming along so far, Hoda has shared a few glimpses of her suburban abode on Instagram here and there since moving.
“It’s all new — new kids, new school, new things, new everything,” she said during an August 2024 episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna about moving into her new place. “And it’s funny because all I could think of was I want my house for the kids to feel warm and cozy and a place where they want to hang. And that’s it.”
