
A HEARTBROKEN family have paid tribute to an “adored” Wexford father after he died in a tragic accident.
William Bailey, from Coolatrindle in Kilmuckridge passed away on Thursday, March 15, following an accident.
The Wexford man is being remembered as a beloved husband to Annette and father to Bill and Tom.
His death notice on RIP.ie reads: “William Bailey, “Trindle Lodge”, Coolatrindle and Ellendale, Kilmuckridge, Co.Wexford. Passed away on March, 13, 2025, following an accident
“Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Annette, adored daddy of Bill and Tom, cherished son of Maeve and the late William, and loving brother of Sandra (Willoughby), Heather (Warren), Jenny (Deacon), and Joseph.
“William will be sadly missed and remembered with great love by his heartbroken family, parents-in-law Tom and Anne Byrne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.”
William’s children play for Gorey Rugby Club, which shared their condolences with the family on social media.
Taking to Facebook, they said: “The Executive Committee & all at Gorey Rugby Club would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Bailey family on the sad passing of William Bailey.
“In particular our deepest condolences to Williams wife Annette and with Bill and Tom who play on our U8S. May he rest in peace.”
His wife Annette is the secretary for Ballygarrett RNM GAA Club in North Wexford, and the club has cancelled all matches this weekend in his honour.
The sudden loss of William has sent shockwaves through the local community, with emotional tributes pouring in from friends, neighbours and acquaintances online.
One family member shared their heartfelt tribute on social media saying he will be forever missed.
‘GOD BLESS YOU’
They said: “William RIP. God bless you little cousin, very fond memories of you as a child following Jenny, Heather, and I as we played upstairs in the house at mammy’s.
“Such a kind, beautiful nature and gorgeous smile, taken too soon. God bless you William, RIP angel forever missed, always and forever. My thoughts and prayers with all the family.”
Funeral arrangements for William will be announced on Tuesday, March 18.
