Gladiators’ Jet says she ‘snapped’ and ATTACKED her wife in fiery row before 18-month marriage fell apart

GLADIATORS star Jet claims she attacked her ex-wife after feeling “bullied” during their short marriage.

The 90s pin-up, real name Diane Youdale, said she “snapped” after being “pushed over the edge” by former spouse Zoe Gilbert.

The 54-year-old also revealed she had developed an alcohol issue during the 18-month marriage.

She said the relationship came to a head during a vicious row in which cops were called.

Diane told MailOnline: “Eventually, I snapped. She fell over the back of the sofa. I pressed on her chest three times firmly and I said, ‘stop this now’.

“I can’t remember what happened then. The next thing I knew I was being led out by the police.

“The living room was an absolute mess, there was coffee up the walls, writing all over the walls. She is claiming that I did all that, but I didn’t. I’m unsure what level of amnesia I must have had to block it out.”

The incident, which took place in 2023, occurred at Zoe’s home where they were living together.

Diane went on to reveal the relationship made her feel so low that she contemplated taking her own life.

The pair had met in the aisles of a supermarket in 2022.

Diane – who soared to fame on hit TV show Gladiators from 1992 to 1996 – said she was approached by the “gorgeous lady” by chance.

She previously admitted she had been “put off relationships for life” after moving to North West England for a failed love interest which ended badly.

Diane wed Zoe in a secret ceremony with just six family members and friends present, a year after they met.

The couple enjoyed a quick honeymoon away in Northumbria before spending some time with family and friends, including some of Diane’s former Gladiator co-stars.

They later appeared on ITV’s Lorraine where they opened up on the whirlwind relationship.

Diane had trained as a choreographer before she became a Gladiator and released a single in 1994.

LEAVING GLADIATORS

In 1996, she exited the show after suffering a 40ft fall in the Pole Axe stunt, crushing her nose after she hit the airbags.

She later told the Gladpod podcast: “My knees literally went into my face and I broke my nose… I had heard the crack, and I could see my nose out of my left eye.”

Diane retired from Gladiators and went on to star on TV shows, present dance shows and train as a psychiatrist.

She previously spoke of having a love affair with former Gladiators co-star James Crossley — known as Hunter.

James and Diane dated for two years but the pair ultimately struggled over their age gap.

The pair, who have remained good friends since their split, reunited on TV screens earlier this month as they took part in BBC show Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

They joined Margie Cooper and Ishy Khan in their bijou classic Fiat 500 as they traversed the mean streets of Lancashire looking for some antique bargains.

You’re Not Alone

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:
