GARDAI have launched a major probe after an Israeli businessman was spat at and verbally abused by two women in a Dublin hotel bar.

Tamir Ohayon, 26, who had travelled from Tel Aviv for a business conference, was sitting at Hardy’s Bar in Dun Laoghaire when the incident occurred on Wednesday.

The two women confronted Ohayon and another individual at his table, shouting at him and putting up their middle fingers at them.

In the footage shared by Ohayon on Instagram, one of the women in the video can be seen spitting at him before they left his table.

Ohayon expressed his shock and heartbreak on social media, stating that he was left feeling helpless and unsafe while no one intervened.

He said: “During my business trip to Dublin, me and my coworker were assaulted by an organized group of girls for simply being Israelis.

“Previous to me filming the video, one of the girls approached me with camera to my face saying my name and basically all the intel she had about my stay in Dublin (the hotels I moved, the reason I came).

“It had been going like that for more than a couple minutes, with no one intervening.”

He also revealed that the incident left him so distressed that he decided to leave Dublin for Berlin.

He added: “This was an act of pure terrorism, and everyone was silent.

“I couldn’t sleep the whole night and locked myself in my hotel room until I moved to another hotel the following day.

“I will never step foot in Ireland again.”

The incident has sparked outrage, with Fine Gael councillor Jim O’Leary condemning the behavior as anti-Semitism.

He said: “This is just pure wrong – and lets start calling it what it is – anti semitism.

“As Cathaoirleach of @dIrcc | condemn this hateful and juvenile behaviour. Where is Ireland of the Cead Mile Failte?”

Gardai have since stated that no injuries took place and that the investigation is currently ongoing.
