Those genes are strong! Elvis Presley‘s granddaughter Finley Lockwood, 16, has grown into the late rock pioneer’s look-alike, as evidenced by their resemblance during a rare outing.
Finley and her father, Michael Lockwood, were photographed hitting up an Erewhon food market in Calabasas, California, on Thursday, March 20, in pictures obtained by The Daily Mail.
Finley wore her long blonde locks straight while donning a white sweater and loose jeans, while her face looks just like Elvis’ as well as her late mom, Lisa Marie Presley.
The teen shares the same distinct eyes, nose and mouth with her late mother and grandfather.
Lisa Marie died at the age of 54 on January 12, 2023. She suffered a cardiac arrest caused by a “small bowel obstruction” from a weight loss surgery she underwent years prior, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office determined.
Finley and her sister Harper are fraternal twins Lisa Marie shared with her ex-husband, Michael. She filed for divorce from the musician in 2016 after 10 years of marriage, and the duo had a heated custody battle over the girls before finalizing their divorce in 2021.
The twins were with Michael, 63, when Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.
“Michael had been hoping for a speedy and complete recovery because her children needed her,” his lawyer told Entertainment Tonight on January 13, 2023. “It is very sad it didn’t turn out that way. Michael’s world has been turned on its ear. He is with both of his daughters now.”
“We are all reeling from the sudden passing of Lisa Marie Presley, the mother of my two beautiful twin daughters Harper and Finley,” Michael told People on January 19, 2023, while giving an update on the former couple’s children. “Nothing prepares us for such an unexpected tragedy. It is incomprehensible.”
He added, “The most important thing to me at this time is to take care of my daughters, making sure they always feel safe and loved.”
Michael was granted full custody of Finley and Harper following Lisa Marie’s death, where they now live a life away from the spotlight.
The twins previously joined their mother and grandmother Priscilla Presley at family events. The girls were part of the Three Generations of Presley’s handprint ceremony at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre on June 21, 2022, in one of their last major family appearances before their mom’s death.
Priscilla, 79, and Lisa Marie were also joined by the singer’s eldest child, daughter Riley Keough. The 35-year-old actress took part in the ceremony where all five put their handprints in cement as part of the promotional activities for Baz Luhrmann‘s Elvis movie, which hit theaters on June 24, 2022.
Lisa Marie lost her only son, Benjamin Keough, to suicide on July 12, 2020, at the age of 27.
The “Lights Out” singer wrote about her grief and how she navigated the unimaginable loss of her son in an August 2022 essay for People to mark National Grief Awareness Day.
“Nothing, absolutely NOTHING takes away the pain, but finding support can sometimes help you feel a little bit less alone,” Lisa Marie wrote. “The unrelenting reality is that you are FORCED into this horrendous ‘club,’ if you will, that you never wanted to be in or a part of, and you are FORCED to then, for lack of a better term, have to go and find your new people now.”
“It’s a real choice to keep going, one that I have to make every single day and one that is constantly challenging to say the least … But I keep going for my girls. I keep going because my son made it very clear in his final moments that taking care of his little sisters and looking out for them were on the forefront of his concerns and his mind. He absolutely adored them and they him,” Lisa Marie shared.
She added, “My and my three daughters’ lives as we knew it were completely detonated and destroyed by his death. We live in this every. Single. Day.”
