A new instalment will be airing tonight (Tuesday, March 18) – at the later time of 9pm.

On ITV, usual programming is being ditched in favour of coverage of Friday’s World Cup qualifier.

The England vs Albania match’s kick-off at 7:45pm has disrupted both Corrie and Emmerdale‘s scheduled times.

To make up for lost coverage, the ITV soap has been handed an additional episode for this evening.

One soap viewer wrote on X: “#Corrie at 9pm on a Tuesday!? Pack this in.”

Another wrote: “When footy messing schedule like on Friday… #corrie

“No idea why not use Sunday 8pm slot .. remember years Corrie was in Sunday anyway and avoided needed 9pm slots.”

Replying to the person above, a third penned: “I hate this messing about because you know I always forget.”

While a fourth remarked: “Nans fuming now. Cheers Corrie.”

The summary for tonight’s episode reads: “James offers to provide a home for Dee-Dee’s baby, Carla and Lisa pursue Mandy, Brody gives Sean an ultimatum.

“Brian learns of Julie’s diagnosis, Tracy finds Rob lurking in the ginnel, and Evelyn suggests giving up her studies to look after Cassie.”

James Bailey returned to Weatherfield after three years away, now played by Jason Callender.

Upon his comeback, James has suggested to sister Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) that he and partner Danny adopt her baby, to provide a loving home.

However, his elder sister is stunned by the unexpected offer and left reeling.

Elsewhere, fans previously saw prison guard Mandy (Rebecca Atkinson) roped in by inmate lover Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) for a last-ditch escape.

She seized Rob’s sister Carla (Alison King) at gunpoint and dragged her out of bed.
