Cops issue major appeal following suspected ‘deliberate arson’ at business in Belfast amid ‘extensive damage’ caused

COPS in Northern Ireland are appealing for information following reports of arson in Belfast.

PSNI officers received reports at around 2.50am on Saturday that a business in the north side of the city had been set ablaze.

Officers attended the scene in the Limestone Road area and were aided by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.

Once the fire had been put out, it was clear extensive damage had been done to the building.

There was also damage caused to machinery on the site.

The PSNI confirmed that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

They are currently treating the incident as deliberate arson and are urging any witness to come forward.

Sergeant McConville said: “Officers received a report at approximately 2.50am, on Saturday 15th March, that a business premises in the Limestone Road area, had been set alight.

“Officers attended the scene, after the fire had been extinguished by colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.

“Extensive damage has been caused to the building, along with damage caused to machinery on the site and our enquires are ongoing at this time”.

“We are treating this report as deliberate arson and anyone that could help with ongoing enquiries is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 145 15/03/25.”

Separately, a woman in her 20s has been seriously injured following a horror road crash.

PSNI officers in Northern Ireland are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in east Belfast.

Cops and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service rushed to the scene on Friday, March 14 following reports of a car crash in the Grand Parade area of the city.

The incident occurred at around 7.05pm.

A pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, was rushed to hospital following the crash.

Inspector Reynolds said: “A report was received at approximately 7.05pm on Friday evening, 14th March that a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car in the Grand Parade area of the city.

Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

“Medical treatment was provided at the scene, and the pedestrian, aged in her 20s, was transported to hospital for treatment to her injuries.”

The PSNI have urged for any witness to come forward, particularly those who may have dash-cam footage of the incident.
