CM Punk is probably one of the greatest WWE wrestlers to never participate in the main event of WrestleMania. It is no secret that Punk has always dreamed of headlining the event, but now the dream seems distant from turning into reality.
Triple H is trying to push John Cena and The Rock for the WrestleMania main event and he seems to be in no mood to give CM Punk a shot. This proves how right CM Punk was when he called out Cena and The Rock for being favored by the WWE.
Is CM Punk’s lifelong dream of participating in a WrestleMania main event ever coming true?

CM Punk should have been a part of the WrestleMania main event at least once in his career. He had an extremely good chance of doing so at WrestleMania 27.
Many argue that instead of The Miz, WWE could have pitted CM Punk against Cena. Even more believe CM Punk’s inclusion would have hyped up the event even more than The Miz.
After his return to the WWE in 2023, CM Punk was devoted to securing his place in the main event of WrestleMania. However, he was forced out of WrestleMania 40 due to a torn triceps.
He came back strong and strived to finally earn his much-awaited main event spot, but he blew his chances by failing to capitalize on the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber matches.
“But goals change”: CM Punk claims WrestleMania main event is no longer his dream

Before this year’s Elimination Chamber, CM Punk spoke to Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes. In the interview, Punk opened up about how his ambitions regarding the WrestleMania have changed.
“It’s really not that big of a deal. Main-eventing WrestleMania has always been a goal of mine, CM Punk said. “But goals change. It doesn’t mean I don’t want to wrestle in the main event of WrestleMania. But you know what, I’m at the stage of my career now where I’m like, okay, so this person’s gonna main event?”
He continued.
“Alright, well, you’re not gonna be able to follow this, so I don’t know what to tell you. I’ll go first, and I’ll shower, and I’ll eat some doughnuts, and I’ll watch whatever you call a main event, and I’ll just go, ‘Yeah, I was right. I was right. They couldn’t follow it.”
What is the actual reason behind CM Punk not getting a WrestleMania main event participation?

Though CM Punk blaming John Cena and The Rock for not getting a chance at the WrestleMania main event is not completely baseless, it is not the sole reason behind Punk’s exclusion.
CM Punk was right about John Cena.

CM Punk himself is one of the reasons behind never getting a chance to perform in the WrestleMania main event. He left the WWE when he was on top of his game; this left some of his fans heartbroken, and it impacted heavily on CM Punk’s popularity and fan following.
