Celtic hero Kyogo could LEAVE Rennes this summer as shock report links TWO replacements – including World Cup winner

KYOGO could be on his way out of Rennes just months after sealing his £10million Hoops exit, it’s being claimed.

The former Celtic hitman, 30 has only spent a number of weeks in Ligue 1 since leaving Scotland but it looks like it may already be beginning of the end for him in France – if a new report is to be believed.

Kyogo has only started one game for Rennes since joining the club in January.

He was thrown in from the start in his debut against Strasbourg just days after his move but it’s been a nightmare few weeks for the Japan star ever since.

Aside from his first game at the beginning of February, Kyogo hasn’t played more than 20 minutes in a single game.

His signing has been regarded a mystery so far as many fans expected him to hit the ground running in Ligue 1 just like he did when he moved to Scotland four years ago.

Kyogo was signed by Jorge Sampaoli but the Argentine boss was axed by Rennes just THREE days later.

Now it’s former Newcastle and Aston Villa Habib Beye who’s in carge and he doesn’t seem to be a fan of the 30-year-old.

And reports in France suggest Kyogo could be on his way out of the south of France already.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Rennes are planning to REPLACE Kyogo at the end of this season.

It’s claimed recruitment chiefs are in the process of working down a shortlist of targets who could take his place.

They’re even looking at a World Cup winner to take the mantle.

French World Cup champ Florian Thauvin is said to be one of the attackers they’re keen on signing in the summer.

Currently at Udinese in Italy, Rennes believe they could persuade the 33-year-old to return to his homeland.

Croatian striker Franjo Ivanovic, who plays for Union Saint-Gilloise, has also been namechecked in the report as the other player targeted.

The Belgian club are believed to be holding out for around €15million (£12.6m) for his services.

It’s suggested Rennes will likely cash in on Kyogo in the summer to free up cash for Beye to use in the market.
