Celtic hero Chris Sutton takes brutal dig at Rangers manager Barry Ferguson’s tactical knowledge

CHRIS SUTTON never resists the chance to have a dig at his former rivals Rangers.

And he has aimed his latest dig at interim manager Barry Ferguson ahead of the showdown derby at Parkhead.

The Hoops find themselves 16 points ahead of their rivals in the Premiership and are just THREE wins away from clinching the title.

But Rangers are just off the back of their midweek heroics when they entered the Quarter Finals of the Europa League.

And speaking during the Sky Sports pre match build up, presenter Eilidh Barbour asked Sutton about how Rangers will set up at Celtic Park.

And he responded: “Well will it be a three, will it be a four, five, six, four-one-three-one?

“Who know’s with Barry Ferguson how they will set up. That was tongue in cheek by the way Eilidh.

“Look, the nature of the way they’ve set up they are going to defend deep Rangers, and they will try to hit Celtic on the counter attack.

“It worked for Barry in Turkey against Fenerbahce but James Tavernier knows that he has to be watchful of Daizen Maeda.

“Especially in terms of his movement in behind. He is devastating.”

The comments made seem to mock Ferguson’s full time analysis after his side’s match against Fenerbahce during the week.

Speaking after that game, the manager spoke about formations but seemed to get confused during his answer.

He said: “Whether we go a three-five-two or a three-four-one, two or whatever, four-one-three-one or four.

“You can go on about formations, I’m getting so mixed up there’s that many formations that i’ve done.

“But one thing about us is that we’ve got to be flexible.”
