RTE star Maura Derrane shares heartfelt Mother’s Day tribute to mum and fans say they’re the ‘image’ of each other
RTE star Maura Derrane has shared a heartfelt tribute to her mum in celebration of Mother’s Day.
The popular presenter took to social media to mark the occasion, sharing a “beautiful” message dedicated to her mum Bridgie.

Maura hails from Inis Mór, where she enjoyed a quintessentially Irish upbringing in the 1970s with her mum Bridgie, dad Mattie, and three sisters.
Taking to her Instagram today, the Galway native shared two throwback snaps of her mum, alongside a more recent picture.
The first two black and white snaps show Bridgie as a young woman, while the more recent picture captures her looking happy as ever alongside her grandchildren.
In the caption of her post, the TV star wrote: “My beautiful Mom Bridgie. Happy Mother’s Day. Always elegant then and now.”
Maura’s fans and friends flocked to the comment section to share their love for her post.
Bernie said: “You look very like her Maura, stunning woman.”
Ann wrote: “Beautiful Maura, you are the image of your mother.”
Breda gushed: “Beautiful like you Maura. Happy Mothers day.”
Marie commented: “You are so like her Maura. Beautiful.”
Another added: “Beautiful you have great look of your mam. Happy Mother’s Day to you both.”
Maura recently wowed her fans as she showed off her hair transformation while getting TV ready.
The popular presenter was back on screens earlier this week alongside her usual co-host Daithi O Se.
Maura is renowned for stepping out in style when it comes to appearing on TV.
And she often shares details of her outfits with fans so they can steal the star’s style.
NEW DO
But this week, she took to her Instagram to show how she gets her hair looking flawless for the telly.
Realising it was her day for a touch-up, Maura showed off her grey roots.
Needing a hair “refresh” she happily propped herself onto her hairstylist’s chair.
In a sped-up video, she showed her hairdresser, Pamela, tending to her locks as she coated Maura’s hair in dye and gave it a snip.
Although Maura didn’t get much length taken off her hair, the results were fabulous.
In the end, she emerged with lighter and fresh looking hair after removing any signs of her grey roots.
