SCOTLAND rugby co-captain Finn Russell has apologised to a fan after accidentally causing a broken wrist during a match.
The fly-half was playing for club side Bath against Gloucester last week, and Russell played a key role in the 42-26 victory.

But one supporter of the English side will have found it a lot harder to pump their fist and cheer the former Glasgow Warrior’s performance.
His kick found its way towards Bath fan Emily, and the thunderous effort ended up unfortunately breaking her wrist in an attempt to protect herself, sending her to A&E.
@Bath_Hooper on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared the news alongside some photos of his injured girlfriend.
He first wrote: “Finn the muscle Russell sent my girlfriend to A&E today with a hell of a kick!
“Broken wrist but still supporting Bath Rugby.”
A further update was shared later showing Emily in a sling and informing the Scotland star of his ‘hell of a boot’.
Now over this weekend, Russell has made up for his unlucky error two-fold.
Not only was he orchestral in another win for the team, this time against Harlequins to the tune of 47-28.
But the club also invited the pair to take in the game with complimentary food and drinks and a special gift.
Another social media post said: “Rugby is a team sport, rarely known for the individuals. Unless you’re Finn Russell.
“Even though my partner was collateral damage when Finn was doing his job for Bath Rugby. He still reached out to offer his apologies (even though he wasn’t at fault).
“Finn and the team kit manager also gifted her a match day jersey with a message. Confirming that Bath are not only the best club in England right now but the most fan orientated there is.
“Thank you Finn Russell. You’ve made her wrist all worth it.”
The signed top came with the message: “To Emily. Sorry about the arm. Hope you recover quickly!”
The Scotsman has started every match for his club so far this season and scored over 200 points.
The 32-year-old is also barrelling towards 100 national team caps after playing a crucial part in an ultimately disappointing Six Nations campaign.
