Scotland rugby hero Finn Russell apologises to fan who was left with a BROKEN WRIST after match incident

SCOTLAND rugby co-captain Finn Russell has apologised to a fan after accidentally causing a broken wrist during a match.

The fly-half was playing for club side Bath against Gloucester last week, and Russell played a key role in the 42-26 victory.

But one supporter of the English side will have found it a lot harder to pump their fist and cheer the former Glasgow Warrior’s performance.

His kick found its way towards Bath fan Emily, and the thunderous effort ended up unfortunately breaking her wrist in an attempt to protect herself, sending her to A&E.

@Bath_Hooper on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared the news alongside some photos of his injured girlfriend.

He first wrote: “Finn the muscle Russell sent my girlfriend to A&E today with a hell of a kick!

“Broken wrist but still supporting Bath Rugby.”

A further update was shared later showing Emily in a sling and informing the Scotland star of his ‘hell of a boot’.

Now over this weekend, Russell has made up for his unlucky error two-fold.

Not only was he orchestral in another win for the team, this time against Harlequins to the tune of 47-28.

But the club also invited the pair to take in the game with complimentary food and drinks and a special gift.

Another social media post said: “Rugby is a team sport, rarely known for the individuals. Unless you’re Finn Russell.

“Even though my partner was collateral damage when Finn was doing his job for Bath Rugby. He still reached out to offer his apologies (even though he wasn’t at fault).

“Finn and the team kit manager also gifted her a match day jersey with a message. Confirming that Bath are not only the best club in England right now but the most fan orientated there is.

“Thank you Finn Russell. You’ve made her wrist all worth it.”

The signed top came with the message: “To Emily. Sorry about the arm. Hope you recover quickly!”

The Scotsman has started every match for his club so far this season and scored over 200 points.

The 32-year-old is also barrelling towards 100 national team caps after playing a crucial part in an ultimately disappointing Six Nations campaign.

Donald Trump sensationally snubs Keir Starmer after PM ‘pleaded’ for Britain to be excluded from raft of US tariffs

SIR Keir Starmer’s eleventh hour bid for Britain to be excluded from new US tariffs was flatly rejected by Donald Trump, The Sun can reveal.

The PM invited the US President to visit the UK this June to sign a new limited trade deal that would swerve new export taxes, yet was snubbed on Sunday evening.

The Sun can reveal the weekend call between the pair failed to reach any resolution beyond President Trump promising to look into the details of the planned economic pact.

Sir Keir’s attempts to flatter the American chief into sparing British firms from the economic hit fell on deaf ears despite an offer to sign the deal in just three months’ time.

One well placed source said the PM had “pleaded” for more time for the UK and US to hammer out a deal.

But No10 insiders rejected that suggestion and said an exemption was never directly asked for during the PM’s update for the President on the status of negotiations.

Sources say Mr Trump promised to look at the details of proposals but was not directly involved in the talks.

The White House is due to unveil sweeping import taxes on goods on Wednesday, in what Mr Trump has dubbed “liberation day”.

But tonight No10 conceded that Britain is unlikely to be exempt by the time the tariffs hit this week, with talks “likely to continue beyond Wednesday”.

Mr Trump has already announced a 25% import tax will be introduced on all cars imported to the US, in a major blow to Britain’s high end car production like Aston Martins and Range Rovers.

Nearly 17 per cent of all UK cars exported go to America, with more than 100,000 cars shipped last year worth almost £8 billion.

Other tariffs that could be announced on April 2 may include a general 20% tax on UK products in response to the rate of VAT we charge on American imports that Mr Trump says is a tariff by any other name.

A Downing Street said “Our trade teams are continuing to have constructive discussions to agree a UK-US economic prosperity deal.

A spokesman refused to “put a time frame on those discussions.”

She has insisted that she is not “demoralised”, and feels “scandalised by the decision”, despite the latest conviction crushing her ambition to become the next President of France.

The 56-year-old far-right politician stormed out of the Paris Correctional Court after she was found guilty in a corruption case involving her party, the National Rally (RN).

She was found guilty by three judges of “embezzling public funds” by setting up a fake jobs at the European Parliament.

Le Pen was banned from running for office for five years effective immediately.

She was also given a sentence of two years in prison and two further years on house arrest, both suspended pending her appeal and a new trial.

Her allies reacted with fury – blasting the conviction as politically motivated and calling it a “declaration of war by Brussels”.
