I tried Lush’s new golden Easter range – my skin was left smooth and shimmering
WITH Easter right around the corner, shops are starting to bring out all their festive products ahead of the holidays.
And one high street beauty chain that always knocks it out of the park with its themed goodies is Lush.

The handmade cosmetics company is famous for its skincare products as well as its incredible bath bombs and shower gels.
When it comes to making baths and showers an indulgent experience, the beauty brand is known as the place to go.
And its brand-new Easter collection is no different.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on some new products from the lusciously golden collection and was left shining with joy with how amazing they made my skin feel.
My bag of treats included Fab Egg Bubbleroon, Easter Bunny Bath Bomb, Golden Egg Shower Gel and Coffee Morning Shower Jelly.
After trying them all over the course of a few days, I found that one product left my skin super soft and smooth while another was super refreshing.
And one product was actually hiding another treat wrapped inside of it.
Even still, each item in the incredible golden collection left my skin glittering and sparkling, like it was as good as gold itself.
Fab Egg Bubbleroon – £10
Eggs have long been associated with Easter for symbolising new life and rebirth, and what’s better than one that’s golden, shimmering and smells incredible?
Lush’s gorgeous new bubbleroon looks like an egg of wealth – not only is it huge in size (weighing 260g), but it is also embellished with a glistening golden lustre.
And it smells divine as well – it’s a gorgeous, zesty, creamy, and fruity blend that creates a luxurious, softening bubble bath that is full of glitter so it leaves the bath shimmering and bubbly.
The egg itself has sharp yet uplifting citrusy orange and lime oils blend seamlessly with spicy yet sweet clove bud oil.
And sandwiched between the two halves is a rich creamy blend of shea and cocoa butters which moisturises and hydrates dry skin.
All you need to do is break a little bit off and crumble it at the bottom of the bath while it runs or hold it under the running water and it melts into your bath while filling it with bubbles.
After steeping in the bath, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it left my skin silky smooth and super soft – I felt amazing by the time I got out and I also noticed that the citrus scents actually boosted my mood.
And because the egg is so big, I managed to get four uses out of it but could easily have had five, so it lasts for a long time as well which is an added bonus!

Easter Bunny Bath Bomb – £10
When we hear ‘Easter’, we automatically think ‘Bunny’ – the beloved figure that symbolises the arrival of Spring.
So there’s no better way to celebrate the holiday season than with an Easter bunny bath bomb – especially one that smells like lemon, bergamot, grapefruit and vanilla.
This juicy and fresh bath treat turns the water into a blanket of seasonal scents with its grassy-green bath art.
And because the art is speckled with flecks of gold, it leaves the skin literally sparkling after unwinding and relaxing.
The bath bomb has some sodium alginate in it, which makes the water extra soft and leaves the skin lusciously smooth.
Not only that, but it is also the biggest bath bomb I have ever seen – and there is a secret reason for that.
Once this bunny has fizzed away in the hot water, a little playful shower gummy carrot is left behind that was hidden in the rabbit’s belly.
As as well as having soft and smooth skin after soaking in the incredible scents, the little carrot adds a bit of extra fun to your bathtime!

Golden Egg Shower Gel – £8.50
This shower gel was just incredible – it is a heavenly mix of golden shimmer and mouth-watering sweet scent that makes you feel like you are getting washed with liquid gold.
Bosses at Lush have taken the traditional golden egg and melted it down to bottle it up and create this delicious shower gel.
And it really is delicious – it smells like vanilla, bergamot, orange and sea salt. So it’s like showering in buttery toffee and caramel.
I used the shower gel mostly on my arms, legs and chest and the skin in these areas felt plump and fresh after I came out of the shower.
Not to mention that it left behind a little bit of gold all over my skin which looked amazing – especially if you’re getting ready for a night out!
If you’re looking for something that gives a little bit extra without coming wth a hefty price tag then this one is definitely for you!

STAFF FAVOURITE

A LUSH insider has revealed that the Cherry Pop shower gel is one of the favourite products among staff at the Glasgow store.
Those who work in the shop on Buchanan Street in the city centre love this product, which smells deliciously sweet.
It is a cherryade hit of nostalgia for those who love to reminisce about nights at carnivals with Ferris wheels, jukebox serenades and drive-in dates.
One thing that makes this shower gel a standout is that it actually changes colour.
While it wasn’t deliberately created to do this, green transforms into cherry-red at different points as you use it.
All you need to do is trust the process and embrace surprise!
It is also loved because it is packed with vitamins A, B, C and E, which have a brightening and toning effect on the skin.
While the zippy lime oil leaves you feeling bubbly and light as air.
Coffee Morning Shower Jelly – £7.50
If you love Lush’s iconic Sticky Dates fragrance then you are going to love this shower jelly.
This limited-edition product has adopted the sweet and moreish scent that is loved by almost all of the beauty chain’s fans.
And, like the name, the jelly has the same effect as a cup of coffee to clear the bleary eyes and give a much-needed boost.
I’m not a lover of coffee or caffeine so I sometimes struggle to wake up in the morning when I’m really tired.
But this has carob resinoid and benzoin resin lathers which woke me up and left me feeling refreshed to take on the day.
When I came out of the shower after using it, I found that my skin actually felt fresher and more hydrated, which bosses say is down to the humectant date syrup and moisturising carrageenan.
Of all the Easter-themed products this one was probably my least favourite, but it is still well worth having on the shelf!

‘So mind-blown by this’ people left shocked after discovering what the white dots on strawberries really are
NOW that the sun is shining, many Brits may be looking to pack up some fresh fruit for their picnics.
Whether it’s to add to their prosecco or simply to enjoy as a refreshingly sweet snack, strawberries are a popular go-to for many Brits.

In the UK alone, according to Where Science Meets Business, the average per capita consumption of strawberries is about 3kg a year.
But many Brits aren’t clued up on the surprising facts about them – including the prickly white spots around strawberries that look like seeds.
Surprisingly, they aren’t seeds but are actually small fruits called achenes – each containing a single seed inside.
In other words, they are small, dry, one-seeded fruits that do not open to release the seed.
These are the brownish or whitish specks that make strawberries relatively high in fibre.
The average strawberry contains around 200 of these, and they form when the strawberry flower is pollinated.
Other plants that have achenes include buttercups, buckwheat, quinoa, and cannabis.
Aaron Liston, from the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Oregon State University, told Live Science: “When you eat one strawberry, you’re getting hundreds of fruits, not just one.”
Chris Gunter, associate professor of horticultural science at NC State, also said: “First off, strawberries don’t keep their seeds outside their fruit.
“Those things we think of as strawberry seeds aren’t seeds.
“There are a few fundamental reasons why plants have evolved different kinds of fruits. One reason is to attract something that spreads seeds.
“A second evolutionary approach is for plants to find ways for their fruit to disperse on their own.
For example, they may fly in the wind, like a dandelion, or be moved by the water, like a coconut.”

In a recent Reddit thread, one user explained that the seeds on the outside of a strawberry are actually the fruit, and this caused shock among social media users.
One said: “I’m actually so mind-blown by this.”
A second added: “This is blowing my mind more than I feel it should.”
A third said: “All these years I’ve been lied to.”
And someone else said: “So that’s why they’re prickly!”
