And B&Q is helping people do this whilst still keeping costs low.

Taking to TikTok, the hardware store recently shared a video on their social media, and gardening fans are loving it.

They are selling olive trees for £15, which will transform your home into a Mediterranean paradise.

Sharing a video of their latest plants that have just landed in store, they captioned it: “Score a bargain with this stunning £15 olive tree!

“Perfect for adding a touch of greenery to your space without breaking the bank.

“Don’t miss out on this incredible special buy! But hurry… when they’re gone, they’re gone.”

The olive tree is “versatile” and can be placed in gardens, patios, or balconies.

B&Q describes the plant as having silvery-green leaves that will add a “Mediterranean touch to any outdoor space.”

Ideal for pots or borders, the olive tree is drought-tolerant and low maintenance, thriving in well-drained soil and full sun.

And to top it off, the plant isn’t just suitable for decorative purposes but also “edible purposes.”

The video shared on the B&Q account has gained over 109,000 TikTok views and 916 likes.

Many people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “Just got three.”

A second added: “On my way.”

Easter 2025 opening hours

Easter in 2025 falls on Sunday, 20 April, bringing with it a long weekend for many across the UK.

The Easter celebrations include Good Friday on 18 April and Easter Monday on 21 April, giving residents in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland a four-day break to enjoy.

In England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, government regulations require shops larger than 280 square metres to remain closed on Easter Sunday.

Scotland, however, is exempt from this law, though some businesses choose to close voluntarily.

For those planning DIY projects over the Easter weekend, B&Q stores will follow their usual opening hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday, with most branches open from 7am to 8pm.

However, all B&Q stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, meaning customers will need to plan their visits around this.

If you’re planning to head to your local store, you’ll still be able to shop between 7am and 8pm on Friday, 18 April, and Monday, 21 April, but doors will remain shut on Sunday, 20 April.

Since opening times can vary depending on the branch, it’s worth checking ahead to confirm if your local B&Q has adjusted its hours for the Easter period.

2. Weeding

Early Spring is the best time to tackle weeds; if you can introduce some regular weeding into your routine, you can guarantee a tidy garden all year round.

3. Hedge maintenance

Spring is the ideal time to tidy up overgrown hedges and shrubs, as regular trimming ensures healthy growth and reduces pest issues. Using a tool like the Gtech Lightweight Hedge Trimmer can help to keep your greenery looking sharp and neat.

4. Composting

Starting a compost heap this spring is a pro-active, cost-effective way to harness nutritious soil for your plants and recycle organic waste that will benefit the overall health of your greenery and foliage.

5. Look after your lawn

Lawn care is hugely important in assuring your garden stays looking beautiful. Make sure to rake away any excess leaves and trim your grass routinely.

It comes amid ongoing controversy around Scotland’s non-domestic rates system and claims of a more generous regime in England.

Stephen Montgomery, director of the Scottish Hospitality Group, said: “The Scottish Government has now almost completely abandoned our hospitality sector.

“And this rates news will be an absolute body blow for landlords, restaurateurs and hoteliers across the country.”

We can reveal that of around 5,000 hospitality premises, official estimates show only 600 could pay no rates at all in the new financial year, starting today.

Hospitality firms can get relief of up to 40 per cent, up to a maximum of £110,000.

But they need to have a rateable value of £51,000 or less to qualify.

There has been a raft of business closures north of the border since Covid.

Nats ministers vowed in 2023 to “explore long-term targeted solutions”.

But finance minister Ivan McKee said there are currently “no plans” to reform the overall system.

Scottish Tory business spokesman Murdo Fraser said: “Arrogant SNP ministers have refused to listen.

“Vital jobs are at risk of being lost as a result of their failures.”

The Scottish Government says overall reliefs are around £731million.

A spokesperson added: “Around half of properties in retail, hospitality and leisure will continue to be eligible for 100 per cent Small Business Bonus Scheme relief.”
