‘I wouldn’t have wanted anything else’ – Rangers hero Ally McCoist’s bittersweet 60th birthday after mum’s passing
ALLY McCOIST is hailed as a constantly positive presence in his coverage of football.
But the Rangers hero has opened up on a personal occasion which wasn’t so easy to enjoy.

The Scot was speaking on his talkSPORT breakfast show.
He revealed to co-host Dean Saunders the unfortunate circumstances of his 60th birthday – and how he and the family made the best they could of it.
He said: “I loved my 60th.
“You know what I did on my 60th, well it was quite sad actually to be brutally honest with you, my wee mum passed and that curtailed any celebrations at all.
“But we went up to Loch Fyne with the kids and we had a lovely meal, down the beach at night, lit a fire.
“We sat on the beach, a couple of glasses, got the stones round, the wood in and just sat there until the early hours of the morning and had a chat.
“I wouldn’t have wanted anything else… apart from David Beckham‘s 50th.”
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Beckham enjoyed lavish celebrations for the big birthday – which are slated to last a MONTH.
The ex-England skipper hosted a mega bash at his favourite Miami restaurant, the home city of his MLS club Inter Miami.
A star-studded guest list included the likes of NFL legend Tom Brady and basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal.
Beckham’s Miami stars and ex-Barcelona aces Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets were also snapped at the glitzy event.

I picked up a random toy from the charity shop for £3 & made £73 when I sold it – have you got one hiding in your loft?
“He was born same year as me! He’s old!”
“Woohoo!! Love finds like this!” a third commented.
“It always happens with the most unexpected things as well!”
“Well done! I love a good rummage in the teddy basket,” someone else smiled.
“At first I thought he was Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
“Same – that’s why I originally picked him up!” Liv responded.
