Coronation Street pulled off air AGAIN this week in yet another ITV schedule shakeup

CORONATION Street fans will be fuming as the soap is yanked from schedules yet again this week – thanks to another ITV shake-up.

The long-running drama is facing yet another disruption, leaving viewers wondering when they’ll get their next fix of Weatherfield drama.

The UEFA’s Women’s Nations League will air on Friday at 7:30pm instead of Coronation Street[/caption]

This Friday will see sports coverage take priority over soaps yet again as ITV broadcasts the UEFA’s Women’s Nations League at 7:30pm.

The one-hour long episode of Coronation Street will air on Thursday at 9pm instead.

This week on the cobbles, Dee-Dee Bailey goes into labour before getting life-changing news, Kevin Webster starts chemo and Jenny Connor gets catfished by someone close to her.

Meanwhile, Corrie icon Sue Cleaver has filmed her final scenes.

The actress – who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV soap – told bosses she wanted to leave last year and the time has now come.

Bosses brought back Eileen’s sister Julie Carp for her emotional exit storyline with Julie revealing she has terminal cancer.

The heartbreaking loss of her sister will no doubt see Eileen question her life on the cobbles.

Actress Sue opened up about her decision to leave Weatherfild, saying: “I’ve had 25 privileged years of working on Coronation Street.

“The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly.”

A telly source said: “Sue has adored her time on Corrie, and sees the cast and crew as her family, but realised that if she wanted to try new projects then she needed to do it now.

“She spoke to bosses last summer, shortly after her stint on Sister Act, about her decision to explore new roles, which gave writers plenty of time to create a strong exit storyline for her, which viewers will love.”

Corrie’s new boss Kate Brooks said: “We’re sad to bid farewell to the wonderful Sue Cleaver.

Over the past 25 years, Eileen Grimshaw has been at the heart of some of the most memorable and iconic Corrie storylines, and her on-screen rivalry with Gail Platt will undoubtedly go down in Corrie folklore.

“There’s certainly no one quite like Eileen, and her character will be hugely missed on the Cobbles.

Corrie cash crisis: shock exits for 2025

ITV bosses are locked in a battle to save the cash-strapped soap.

This means that a number of stars have either been axed from or have abandoned the long-running serial drama.

Colson Smith – Craig Tinker

The character of Craig Tinker has been axed by bosses after 14 years. After he was told of the news in Autumn 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that would be written out of the show with scenes to air later this year. Craig’s on-screen mum, Beth Tinker, also left the show in the summer when actress Lisa George was written out from the role.

Sue Cleaver – Eileen Grimshaw

After 25 years playing Eileen Grimshaw, former I’m A Celebrity campmate Sue Cleaver will quit the show. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she’s already begun to film her exit scenes. However the character will not be killed off in case Sue opts to make a return in the future.

Luca Toolan – Mason Radcliffe

Bosses decided to axe the teenage character after just 16 months after he first joined the show. Recent scenes saw Mason stabbed by his criminal brothers after his pal Dylan brought a knife in an attempt to defend him.

Sue Devaney – Debbie Webster

In November 2024, we revealed that Debbie Webster is set to be killed off after 40 years on the cobbles. The character will die as part of a heartbreaking long-running dementia storyline.

Charlotte Jordan – Daisy Midgeley

The actress became the fifth star to leave Coronation Street in just one month. We revealed that she will bow out of the ITV soap later this year after four years on-screen. Charlotte told sources that she’s hungry to see what other opportunities await.

Shelley King – Yasmeen Metcalfe

The actress has played Yasmeen Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 11 years and we revealed in January that she finished filming her final scenes. This follows the departure of her on-screen partner Stu Carpenter.

“We wish Sue all the very best as she embarks on her next exciting chapter.”

The Sun exclusively revealed how Sue’s on-screen son Ryan Thomas made a brief return for her exit storyline.

Ryan began filming earlier this month for his short stint and was on set today for Sue’s swansong.

A source said: “It’s a huge deal for Sue and the show. She’s been an iconic part of the cobbles for a quarter of a century so saying goodbye will be emotional for everyone.”

Loose Women’s Frankie Bridge shares health update after admitting ‘I was questioning the point of life’

LOOSE Women star Frankie Bridge has given fans an update 24 hours after admitting her depression was “kicking my a**e”.

The presenter and singer, 36, has struggled with her mental health over the years going through breakdowns and hospitalisation which she documented in the book, Open.

She admitted her depression had flared up before the weather turned and she made it to the gym[/caption]

Over the weekend she explained how she was struggling and felt bored of the constant fight with her mind.

However, yesterday the sun was shining and she managed to do two workouts in the gym, all of which helped boost her mood significantly.

“What a difference a day makes,” she said in a video shared online.

“Literally yesterday I was questioning the point of life and why I keep striving to feel better without anxiety and depression and wondering what everyone else’s life would be like if I didn’t have it and thinking about people with brains that just work ‘normally’ and they don’t have this constant thing going on in their head.

“And then today, I feel great. I think the sun has definitely helped.”

While husband Wayne looked after their boys, Parker and Carter, Frankie swapped eating biscuits on the sofa for arm and leg sessions.

She added: “My point is, and this is to remind myself as well, you’ve just got to keep going. Each day is different and there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.”

Frankie had to dig deep to pull herself out of the dark place, revealing it took her an entire day to motivate herself to get to the gym.

“My depression is absolutely kicking my a**e, and I’m so over it,” she said. “You know when you just feel like you do all the things you’re told you’re meant to do, and then it just still always comes back?

“I’m just so bored of myself. It is so boring. You know when you just think everyone around me must just be so bored of it as well, and I just I’m over it.

“But I’m here,” she added. “I’m going to try and do as much as I can in the gym, because I know it will make me feel better, instead of just sitting around, eating s**t, which is what I’ve been doing all day, which only makes me feel worse and I know that, so I don’t know why I do it, but here we are back in the same old place.”

Frankie has long used her platform to raise awareness of mental health issues and she left I’m A Celebrity viewers in tears in 2021 when she recalled her lowest moments.

The Saturdays singer was treated in a psychiatric hospital following a breakdown aged 21.

Though she emerged feeling better than when she went in, adapting to ‘normal’ life took time and had myriad challenges.

The chaotic nature of life in a girl band wasn’t helpful and she would find herself having panic attacks.

She credits her retired footballer husband for helping her over the years and previously told the BBC how he had had sessions with a doctor to learn more about her condition.

Sharing her words to him in the early days, she said: “All I need is for you to listen to me because it can’t be fixed.

“Just be there, embrace it and let them know they’re not alone.”

Now names like Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic join AJ on the list of opponents Fury wants to face.

He told The Ring Magazine: “God’s got a plan and I believe this is the destiny now and I’ve not had the easiest route – with the health issues and all of that I’ve had the hardest route in the world – but I believe now is the right time.

“I’m only one fight away, just get the right fight and I’ll be there.

“I’d like anyone, I’d like all these fights, I’d like the Zhang fight, I’d like the Joshua fight.

“Even Hrgovic, I’d like him. All of these fights, hopefully I’d get.”

Fury, 30, beat Christian Thun, 33, in his last bout in September and returns on Friday night at York Hall against a yet-to be named opponent.

And he said: “I believe people haven’t seen a fraction of my ability and I’m looking forward to this year to showing it.

“There’s a lot different. Even with the last fight, it was just getting the cobwebs off and stuff.

“Talk’s cheap. I just can’t wait now to put it all in action. I’ve got so many different styles that people I haven’t seen and I’m looking forward now to put it all into practice.”

Fury challenged for the WBO title in 2017 but lost a controversial decision to Joseph Parker in Manchester.

But he has six wins on the spin now and believes he is in line for big fights after signing a deal with Izzy Asif’s GBM Sports.

Fury said: “Izzy’s a good friend of my dad’s as well so he’s promised us. I believe he’ll keep to his word and we’ll get these big fights in.

“Yeah, I do believe in God’s got a destiny and I believe this is my right time now.”

Spencer Matthews gushes over Vogue Williams on Mother’s Day after couple hit back at marriage split rumours

SPENCER Matthews has gushed over his “incredible” wife Vogue Williams amid rumours their marriage is on the rocks.

The Made In Chelsea alum, 36, uploaded a sweet series of snaps showing the pair enjoying a sun-soaked trip to St Barts.

The couple – who are said to be “on different pages” in their relationship – jetted off with Spencer‘s mum Jane and their three kids.

Yet their happy holiday images showed a different story, after model, broadcaster and podcast host Vogue, 39, spoke out – insisting they were “happily married and in love.”

After the Lorraine presenter blasted the suggestions the pair’s seven year marriage had come to an end, Spencer has given an insight into their romantic getaway.

He posted a sweet photograph showing him and Vogue cuddling on the beach before they were joined by his mum for a smiley snap.

The E4 star then showcased their plush meal at a beach restaurant before capturing their kids enjoying the fun.

The pair share kids Theodore, aged six, Gigi, aged four, and youngest Otto, aged two.

In his sweet caption, Spencer wrote: “Happiest of Mother’s Days to my incredible wife, mother and every other mum out there!!

“What a pleasure to be spending it here all together in sunny St Barths. Love to all…”

SPEAKING OUT

Just last week Vogue said she’d “had enough” after rumours of struggles at home.

Now the mum of three has taken to Instagram to set the record straight.

In a fiery rant posted alongside a carousel of images showing the pair in happy times, she wrote: “It’s with great sadness that I have to let you know that Spen and I are NOT breaking up!

“I usually avoid addressing baseless and cruel rumours but this just keeps coming up.”

She told how rumours of a marriage breakdown are “absolutely not true and much more importantly I don’t want my children hearing these lies in the playground.”

She added: “We’re not sure what the angle is or where it’s coming from but the whole thing feels very strange and mean.

“We’re very happily married and in love and I hope posting the truth on my own platform might make it stop.”

Spencer then made light of the situation as he added some of the speculation was “quite funny to be fair.”

SPLIT RUMOURS

It comes after speculation the pair were trying to avoid the seven-year itch.

It also follows Spencer’s reveal that he will not be leaving his fortune to their kids over nepotism fears.

Meanwhile, according to The Mirror, the couple held different opinions on handling rumours of their split.

A source told the publication: “Vogue is much more sensitive than Spencer when it comes to people talking about their relationship and their family, so she takes rumours about their marriage much more to heart and it makes her angry.

“It’s a bit like water off a duck’s back to Spencer – but Vogue finds it hard seeing them all the time, especially as they’ve got kids, which she said herself.”

They added: “Spencer also feels that if you address something publicly it just fuels the situation – it doesn’t stop people from talking, it almost has the opposite effect.

“So they’re not really on the same page with it, which can be an issue, at times.”

Dublin weather: ‘Plenty of sunshine’ & 17C temps to blast TODAY as Met Eireann reveal low pressure alert April forecast

MET Eireann has confirmed temperatures could hit 17C in Dublin today as sunshine takes over later in the day.

High pressure is expected to treat the capital to “settled conditions and plenty of sunshine” this week – and there doesn’t look to be any major weather switches hitting us anytime soon.

Met Eireann said today will be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.

Sunshine will improve from the south as the day goes on and Dublin will bask in highest temperatures of 14C to 17C in light winds.

The weather boffins forecast more of the same for tonight, when long, clear spells develop and temperatures hit their lowest between 7C and 8C.

The meteorologists also confirmed that conditions in the capital will continue on a high tomorrow, when Dublin can expect “dry and sunny” weather throughout the day.

Met Eireann said: ” Long spells of hazy sunshine at first turning to blue skies as the day goes on. Highest temperatures of 13C to 15C in a moderate to fresh southeasterly wind.”

Tuesday night will also be dry and clear, with southeasterly winds easing largely light to moderate, and temperatures hitting their lowest between 4C and 8C.

Looking further ahead, Met Eireann said: “High pressure will bring settled conditions and plenty of sunshine.”

Wednesday is expected to be a “fine day” that will stay dry and bring “widespread sunshine”.

Temperatures will peak between 11C and 15C but Dublin is expected to be one of the “coolest” counties due to a light to moderate southeasterly wind.

Wednesday night will also be dry and clear with light easterly winds and lowest temperatures of 3C and 7C.

Looking towards Thursday, Met Eireann said it will be “another dry and sunny say” with highest temperatures of 12C to 16C.

Dublin is once again expected to be one of the coolest areas in the country due to a moderate easterly wind.

Conditions look set to stay much the same through Friday and the rest of the weekend.

Met Eireann said: “Current indications suggest it will remain largely settled for the weekend. A little more in the way of cloud is expected with temperatures turning slightly cooler too.”

APRIL FORECAST

Met Eireann has revealed its forecast for almost the entire month, with conditions up until April 27 confirmed.

Looking towards conditions next week, Met Eireann said high pressure is likely to continue bringing “predominately settled” conditions.

Rainfall amounts are forecast to be below normal whilst mean air temperatures are predicted to be above the climatological average for mid-April.

Looking forward to the week after, from Monday April 14 to Sunday April 20, Met Eireann warned that conditions are set to turn “more changeable” as low pressure systems approach Ireland.

The forecasters said: “Mean air temperatures are likely to be around the climatological average. It is likely to be wetter than normal with showers and longer periods of rain moving through at times.”

Forecast confidence is lower from Monday April 21 to Sunday April 27, with Met Eireann warning that there is a signal for low pressure in the south of Ireland with “rather mixed weather conditions” over the country.

The weather boffins said temperatures and rainfall totals are likely to be “around the seasonal average”.
