Rapper Giggs reveals musical heroes as he praises Stormzy and Central Cee for changing face of British hip hop

GIGGS has spoken about some of his musical heroes and said the British scene is in the best place it’s been for years.

As he posed for the cover of Something About Rocks magazine, out tomorrow, the Incredible Sauce rapper said: “Everyone influences me and I get influenced to this day by the new kids. Dave, Strandz, they inspire me.

“[The UK rap scene] is always evolving. From the beginning to now: it’s gone crazy.

“Look at the likes of Central Cee, Stormzy – they’ve taken it to the highest of heights. All of them.”

Talking about how he inspired the scene, he joked that there were “loads of little Giggseys about now”, adding of his aspiring rapper son ML: “I think I’m more about giving my children knowledge to be great, more than materials.

“I just go to the studio and put on a beat and just rap whatever comes into my head.”

MUM’S THE WORD

MOTHER’S Day saw every celebrity and their dog sharing favourite pictures of their mums online.

David Beckham was among the first to post, and paid tribute to Victoria, as well as his mum Sandra and Posh’s mother Jackie.

Dua Lipa got in on the act with her mum too, along with Davina McCall, Emma Bunton and Holly Willoughby.

I got my lovely mother a box of her favourite Milk Tray, which she inhaled in two minutes flat.

Impressive work, Mum.

MAE IN A LATHER AT VID PAINT

MAE STEPHENS wasn’t quite feeling the glitz and glamour of the music industry on the set of her latest video.

She has just released the visuals for Woah Man!, in which she gets drenched in paint.

But it proved a nightmare getting it all out.

Mae told me: “It was hands down the most enjoyable shoot I’ve ever had. It involves me getting covered in a lot of paint.

“After, I’m like, ‘OK how are we going to get this off?’ And none of us had thought that far ahead.

“We had no shampoo, no conditioner, so I had hand soap and a shower.

“I had to walk back through London with flecks of paint in my hair and carrying a big double-wrapped bin bag of my soaked clothes.”

That’s showbiz.

UP FOR GONGS

Pet Shop Boys, Charli XCX and, Cynthia Erivo are among the nominees for the Rainbow Honours Awards.

The event celebrates heroes of the LGBTQIA community and the winners are to be unveiled during a ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane on June 27.

ALEX ON A HAT-TRICK

ALEX WARREN is hoping to make it a hat-trick on Friday as his single Ordinary is on course to be No1 for a third consecutive week.

As it stands, Ariana Grande is going to be the highest new entry, with her song Twilight Zone predicted to debut at No4, while Kylie Minogue and Alok are trying to break into the Top Ten with Last Night I Dreamt I Fell In Love.

If you fancy listening to some new music, try Bellah Mae’s Bad Day To Be My Ex, and Bradley Marshall’s Save My Heart if you’ve got a minute this week .

Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

CAMILA FLUNKS HOMEWORK

IT’S a good thing Camila Cabello is a great singer – because it turns out she is pants at most day-to-day tasks.

The Havana singer, who was 15 when she became a member of girl group Fifth Harmony, says she is useless around the house, and doesn’t often travel by rail like the rest of us.

She said: “I’ve taken some trains. Not the subway. I won’t lie, I am in the black SUVs for Uber.”

Asked whether she does chores at home, she added: “I honestly do. I’m making myself sound like a douche galore with the no public transport, but I love to wash dishes.

“Actually, I won’t say I love to wash dishes. Now I’m lying. I really need to learn how to use a dishwasher. I don’t know how to use a dishwasher. But I do wash my own dishes.”

Then asked on the Smallzy’s Surgery podcast if she washes her own clothes, she said: “I don’t, I’ve got to say. I knew that was coming.

“I don’t do laundry. What else is there for chores? I can make food. I look up how to slice vegetables though for most vegetables.”

Bless her cotton socks.

GERI: I WANNABE PART OF FULL SPICE GIRLS REUNION

GERI HORNER has confirmed she wants a Spice Girls reunion to go ahead – despite a tricky relationship with Mel B.

I revealed last year that the pair had a frosty reunion at Posh’s 50th birthday party and the tensions were making another comeback rather awkward.

But in a new interview with The Sunday Times Magazine, Geri said: “My hope is we come back together as a collective. It’s more respectful to come as one.”

When asked if she meant all five of the Spice Girls, who last performed together at the Olympics in 2012, Geri added: “There will be something. We’ll come as one.”

Geri might struggle to find the time however, after revealing she’d struck a huge film deal for her kids’ books about the adventures of a girl called Rosie Frost.

She added: “The most famous producer in Hollywood has bought the rights.”

I was a size 22 but after my break up I lost eight stone, here’s how you can too WITHOUT fat jabs or weight-loss surgery

[/boxout]

“If I had one bad day, it turned into a bad week and then a bad month.

Kelly recalled how her weight caused her lots of health issues, including “terrible knees” and constant back pain.

“I could barely walk let alone run around after the kids – I was really miserable.”

She explained how her breakup “really triggered” the change in her lifestyle.

“It opened my eyes to the way I was treating my body,” Kelly said.

“That’s when I really felt it – I looked and felt terrible, I was really was determined to love myself again.”

When the UK went into a national lockdown, Kelly completely overhauled her diet and started exercising.

She even started “meal prepping” batches of homecooked meals and counting calories.

In just under a year, Kelly lost a whopping five stone and was determined to keep going.

She now trains five days a week with Lucy – doing a mix of cardio and weight lifting.

The more results I saw, the more addictive it became.

Kelly Wynne

“She saw me outside the school gate and told me I looked amazing,” Kelly recalled.

“I wanted to lose more weight but had plateaued a bit.

“She said, ‘why don’t you come and train with me?’

“Lucy was an amazing help – it was like having a free PT!

“The more results I saw, the more addictive it became, she helped me lose another three stone.”

Kelly started documenting her journey on TikTok and has gathered 14,700 followers.

“I love helping people on their journey and motivating them,” she said.

“It took me a good year but I learnt to change my mindset, I don’t stop myself having treats but do it in moderation.

“It is possible to do it without fat-loss injections and gastric surgery.

“Nothing against it but not everyone can afford it, and I feel like this has taught me the importance of exercise and a good diet.

“Now I can play with the kids and I got out with friends confidently, I’m stronger and happier in myself.”

Legendary WAG makes shock return to Real Housewives of Cheshire after five years as reality show marks 10th anniversary

REAL Housewives of Cheshire legend Dawn Ward is making a sensational return to the ITV reality series after five years, I can reveal.

Her comeback is part of the show’s tenth-anniversary storyline which sees a string of faces from the past appear as guest housewives.

Dawn’s arch nemesis Leanne Brown is also returning, as well as Magali Gorre, alongside series regulars including Lauren Simon, Rachel Lugo and Seema Malhotra.

But Dawn’s return is the one that will send fans wild — and she arrives in style, bursting through a giant cake to screams of surprise, yelping: “The Queen of Cheshire is back!”

Chatting to TV Biz, Dawn laughs: “I very quickly got that tag, but that was nothing to do with me! I was on the show for 12 series and that’s the first time I’ve ever said it!

Facial surgery

“It was so emotional, that first scene, I kept crying — I was so overwhelmed.”

But it sounds like she quickly found her groove and jokes that the new Housewives can’t cut it like her gang, who kicked off the action in 2015.

She said: “I love them and still watch the show, but the new ladies are completely different.

“The OGs had known each other for years before the show started and the history we had meant when you fight, you’re really passionate and it really hurts.

“But I don’t think it would have been fair to the viewers if I didn’t come back and it was just amazing being back with everyone.”

Dawn was ready to be back on camera after having facial surgery in November. Though this had unfortunate implications for her while filming scenes skydiving from 14,000 feet.

She laughed: “I grazed my face on the helmet strap, because I got friction. But because I’d just had facial surgery, my face was numb so I didn’t feel it.

“But I vowed I wasn’t coming back for two minutes on camera. They gave me a very big return.

“The biggest scene was the skydive with Rachel – it was the most horrific thing I’ve done in my life.

“It’s put me off ever going on I’m A Celeb. When you see the people terrified, then they land and say it’s amazing? I didn’t feel that. Neither did Rachel.

“It felt like the earth had sucked me out.

“Before we took off I spoke to my husband, and when I put the phone down I cried in case I never saw him again.”

Dawn’s stint as a guest housewife begins on May 5 at 9pm on ITVBe.

The interior designer and her husband, ex-Norwich City and Derby footballer Ashley, moved to Dubai in 2020, and she’s since appeared in the Real Housewives Of Dubai.

Dawn said: “The Dubai housewives think they can row — they don’t know what rowing is!”

Her knowledge makes her perfectly placed to ponder which Wags might make ideal new recruits as the ITVBe series moves into a second decade — and she chooses Olivia Attwood and Coleen Rooney.

She said: “Olivia would be brilliant and Coleen would be absolutely fabulous because she’s really clever and she’s no wallflower.

“But Coleen doesn’t need to put herself through all that stress.”

Coleen has only recently emerged from the strain of the Wagatha Christie trial, so has probably had her fill of drama for now, I suggest.

Dawn laughed: “Well, I’m sure she has. But cream always rises to the top.”

So Coleen’s arch nemesis Rebekah Vardy doesn’t get Dawn’s backing?

With a wry smile, Dawn added: “I don’t think Becky Vardy’s the right fit . . .  she’s not in Cheshire, is she?”

It’s great to have you back, Wardy.

CHRISTMAS has come early for action hero Kiefer Sutherland as he tucks into a pasty on the set of a new festive movie.

Tinsel Town, which also stars Rebel Wilson and Danny Dyer, has been filming in North Yorkshire market town Knaresborough for the last couple of months.

In a break from shooting, the 24 and Designated Survivor legend scoffed the savoury treat after taking a stroll through the town.

The Sky Originals film is due for release later this year and tells the story of Bradley Mack, an action hero who heads to England when his career goes into freefall.

Chaos ensues when his agent finds him some work to keep him ticking along – in a small village pantomime, Cinderella.

Macy in snub to Celeb BB

I Try singer Macy Gray has deserted another show[/caption]

MACY GRAY found a place in TV history when she stormed off The Masked Singer stage earlier this year.

Now I can reveal that she’s deserted ANOTHER show – Celebrity Big Brother.

The I Try singer was in advanced talks for the ITV reality series and planned to redeem herself after her strop but opted not to go ahead.

A source said: “Macy’s fury at being voted out as Toad In The Hole earlier this year was such a talking point and bosses thought Macy would make a great housemate.

“She’d seemed keen to rewrite her narrative after The Masked Singer but in the end decided not to go ahead.”

Actress Patsy Palmer and politician Michael Fabricant are the newest names to join the likes of Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd and singer Chesney Hawkes in the spy house next Monday when the series begins.

STEPHEN GRAHAM says he is up for making a second series of Adolescence after the drama became the biggest show of the year so far with more than 66million viewers.

It comes after The Sun revealed Netflix bosses were keen to order more from the actor, who co-wrote the four-parter with screenwriter Jack Thorne.

The hard-hitting show follows a family whose 13-year-old son is accused of murdering a schoolgirl after being influenced by incel culture online.

Execs hope to look into other teen topics and see it as a theme that could run and run. And Stephen, who played dad Eddie, agrees.

He told Variety: “Let’s see how figures are but yeah, there’s the possibility of developing another story.”

After hitting number one in 80 countries, I reckon the figures stack up, Stephen.

THEY’VE jumped out of planes and braved alligator-infested swamps – but it was cleaning windows that almost spelled the end for Bradley and Barney Walsh.

The father-and-son duo revealed that, while filming the last series of Breaking Dad in Panama, they almost plummeted 50 storeys when the crane system began to crack.

Bradley said: “It was like a swing with a plank of wood. We’re hanging from the top of this place and as we step on the plank, Barney’s plank cracks. I am like, ‘Oh my God, we’re going to die’. I’m singing to try calm us down.”

Barney added: “I’ve just never seen anything so lackadaisical, it was really frightening.”

Breaking Dad returns to ITV1 tomorrow at 8pm.

HIS show Fun House was on telly for over a decade Pat Sharp said he filmed the Nineties kids’ favourite in just over two months.

The telly and radio host said: “I did one week a year. I took a week off Capital Radio, then went to Glasgow for ITV and made the whole series in seven days.”
