M&S confirms it has axed popular snack that was great with a pint

M&S has confirmed it has axed a beloved snack – particularly popular with a pint.

It came after a disgruntled shopper took to social media to inquire about its whereabouts.

The M&S Sweet Chilli Combo Mix has been discontinued[/caption]

They said on X: “@Marksandspencer have you stopped selling the Sweet Chilli Combo Mix snack?

“Been to several stores today and no sign of them. Please say they’ve not been discontinued!!”

The Sweet Chilli Combo Mix was a selection of crispy potato and corn snacks – which came in the shape of tubes, wheels and flat crisps.

Fans deemed them the perfect sweet and spicy morsel to enjoy alongside a cold drink.

But their worst fears were confirmed when M&S employee Simon weighed in on the thread.

He said: “It looks like we have discontinued this flavour, sorry about that.”

The posh supermarket also sells the Combo Mix in various other flavours – including Sour Cream and Jalapeno, Salt and Pepper and Four Cheese and Onion.

Plus, it has recently added a Barbecue flavour to the range.

A spokesperson told The Sun: “We are constantly reviewing, improving and refreshing our ranges across the Foodhall, reacting to the latest trends as well as customer feedback.

“We have just launched a better-than-ever selection of 26 new types of crisps and savoury snacks, with something for everyone – from our tasty new Barbecue Combo Mix to our new chicken curry-flavoured Extreme Ridge crisps where we’ve matched the flavour to our popular chicken korma in the M&S Foodhall.

“Although our Sweet Chilli Combo Mix is not currently available, we always listen to customer feedback when reviewing future ranges.”

The news comes after M&S shut a popular Foodhall branch in Wellington Street, Leeds earlier this month.

Customers rushed to share their disappointment, with one saying they were “devvoed”.

The retailer also closed its longstanding Crawley branch in November, with bosses blaming the closure on “changing shopping patterns”.

In better news, fans have spotted a Limited Edition Connie the Caterpillar chocolate cake released for this Mother’s Day.

The dessert is decorated with a pink crown on Connie’s head and pink crown sprinkles.

It is made of the same chocolate sponge as the original – but covered in a pink-coloured white chocolate buttercream and milk chocolate.

Why are products axed or recipes changed?

ANALYSIS by chief consumer reporter James Flanders.

Food and drinks makers have been known to tweak their recipes or axe items altogether.

They often say that this is down to the changing tastes of customers.

There are several reasons why this could be done.

For example, government regulation, like the “sugar tax,” forces firms to change their recipes.

Some manufacturers might choose to tweak ingredients to cut costs.

They may opt for a cheaper alternative, especially when costs are rising to keep prices stable.

For example, Tango Cherry disappeared from shelves in 2018.

It has recently returned after six years away but as a sugar-free version.

Fanta removed sweetener from its sugar-free alternative earlier this year.

Suntory tweaked the flavour of its flagship Lucozade Original and Orange energy drinks.

While the amount of sugar in every bottle remains unchanged, the supplier swapped out the sweetener aspartame for sucralose.

New ‘prolific’ €50m drug revelations on lifted The Family mob boss as crim ops in ruins after 5 arrests in dawn raids

THE crime boss arrested by Gardai as part of a global probe into the ‘Ghost’ messaging platform is classified as one of Europe’s “most prolific” drug importers.

And investigators at Europol regard ‘The Family’ mob as “high priority” targets due to their links to major criminal organisations in Holland, Spain, Italy, Hungary and South America.

But their criminal operations – which have been running for over 25 years – are now in ruin after the mob boss, his two siblings, and two associates were arrested by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau on Monday.

The leader of the network is being questioned on suspicion of directing the activities of an organised crime gang, while his associates are being quizzed on suspicion of enhancing the capabilities of an organised crime gang.

All five can be held until next Monday before being released or charged.

It’s understood they will be questioned in relation to intelligence – relating to drug trafficking and money laundering enterprises – uncovered from the illegal messaging network.

One European investigator told us: “This criminal organisation are among Europe’s most prolific drug trafficking gangs.

“Their leader is suspected of importing over €50m worth of drugs into Ireland and also millions worth of drugs into other European countries.

“It’s estimated that they have been operating in Ireland for over 25 years and it’s only since the demise of the Kinahan organisation in recent years that they have increased their level of activity on the European stage.

“It is no surprise that law enforcement across Europe have come together with the aim of dismantling this criminal organisation’s vast network.”

During his rise to the top of the underworld, the Irish Sun can also reveal that the leader of ‘The Family’ also worked closely with Jeffrey Mitchell – once regarded as one of Dublin’s biggest drug dealers.

The pair were inseparable in the early 2000s before the crime boss abandoned his old pal when he became addicted to drugs.

PALS FELL OUT

The former pals also fell out after Mitchell was accused of giving up a stash of drugs to Gardai.

Mitchell – who survived two murder bids on his life – was found dead at a hostel in November 2022 with €45,000 worth of heroin.

A former investigator said: “Mitchell and the leader of the criminal grouping were very close in early stages of their criminal career.

“They were both prolific drug dealers.”

‘DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS’

“They both went in different directions with the gang boss going on to a very high level in the world of organised crime.”

All of Monday’s arrests were made in Dublin, Kilkenny and Wexford.

Their arrests come after they were identified last September under ‘Operation Kraken’ as suspected users of the illegal messaging network.

The network was used by criminal organisations around the world to arrange drug shipments, firearms and money laundering.

NETWORK SMASHED

Four major crime gangs in Ireland – including ‘The Family’ – were the second biggest users of the network before it was smashed in the global operation last year.

One of the gang boss’ associates has a key role in logistics of the gang and is considered to be “director of operations” in the day-to-day running of the mob.

It’s understood he played a key role in recruiting Paul Bourke, 56, from Kilkenny, who was moving heroin and Glock pistols for the mob before he was caught.

Another is Hungarian pilot Zoltan Nemeth, 63, who flew €8.4m worth of heroin into Ireland in 2023.

‘TOP TIER’ TARGETS

‘The Family’ are “top tier” targets for Gardai due to their involvement in the global drugs trade and because of their willingness to use violence.

In the most recent case, their associates are linked to the murder of Cormac Berkeley in 2022.

Since the GNDOCB went on the offensive against ‘The Family’, they have seized over €50m worth of drugs, €7m in cash, charged “top tier” targets and seized assets such as luxury cars.

Gardai believe they were laundering €100m in drug cash every year.

‘CODED LANGUAGE’

Following the global operation against the ‘Ghost’ platform last September, Gardai recovered €15.2m worth of cocaine, €320,000 worth of cannabis, €100,000 of heroin and €300,000 in cash.

Speaking at a press conference following the Ghost hack, Detective Chief Supt Seamus Boland said: “In general, without even discussing how they communicated on these networks, it’s our experience that organised crime at the highest level always use a coded language. And that’s something that we’ve seen going back to 2015, 2016.

“Even if they’re sitting in a room with no windows and having a conversation among themselves, they’re at a very high level, they’re tuned to a certain way to use coded languages.

“So that’s something that’s always going to be a challenge for law enforcement, but that’s something that we’re quite confident that their coded languages they use were capable of understanding what’s taking place.

“And often you will see evidence being given in some prosecutions and courts in relation to what specific codes generally are being referred to in a prosecution.”

I’m Glad Koyoharu Gotouge’s Original Super Dark Draft for Demon Slayer Got Canceled

Demon Slayer has single-handedly defined what anime should ideally look like for millions of fans. SAS Who Dares Wins’ celebrities heading to terrifying new territory ‘deemed too dangerous for Netflix’

SAS: Who Dares Wins is out to prove it is the toughest show on telly by plunging the next batch of celebrities into one of the world’s most dangerous regions.

The next series of the Channel 4 challenge show will head to a jungle in South America, with Panama, Ecuador and Costa Rica the likeliest destinations.

It is a cheeky move because former SAS soldier Bear Grylls and co-host Holly Willoughby filmed their Netflix challenge show, Celebrity Bear Hunt, in the same area — but are set to quit the region for series two amid drug gang fears.

A TV source said: “Nothing establishes SAS: Who Dares Wins as the big daddy of adventure telly like basing the next challenge in South America.

“Especially when Netflix seems to be upping sticks from Costa Rica for Bear Hunt.

“The thing bosses love about the continent is the risk factors are extreme and everywhere.

“The celebs will need to dodge anacondas in the river and disease-infested mosquitoes.

“And they could even be poisoned by seemingly harmless vegetation just by touching it.

“The next round of celebrities will have their work cut out just surviving in the environment before they’ve even attempted an SAS challenge.”

The future of the long-running series seemed to be hanging in the balance when C4 axed the civilian version in 2023.

The seventh series of the celebrity instalment was filmed last summer in Wales, with contestants including ex-footballer Troy Deeney, singer Lucy Spraggan and Strictly’s Tasha Ghouri.

It is due to air this year.

The sixth series was set in New Zealand and aired last year.

Featuring Towie’s Georgia Harrison, who went on to win it, and former England rugby player Chris Robshaw, it was well-received by viewers, which has inspired bosses to go big for series eight.

Let’s hope the new lot pack their bug spray.

The athletes were swamped as more than 7,000 supporters turned up for the meet-and-greet, with kids and parents queuing for hours to pose for a photo.

The action-packed event and immersive experience also featured an inflatable duelling pit for youngsters to try their hand using miniature versions of the show’s famous pugil sticks.

Gladiators Nitro, Legend, Electro, Comet, Phantom, Sabre, Bionic, Steel, Hammer and Diamond were there meeting fans before getting stuck in with some events.

The event comes ahead of the show’s second semi-final, which airs on Saturday, April 5, at 5.50pm, with the final on April 12.

Archie enemy in paradise

Archie Hughes is back to stir trouble for Martha and Humphrey in Beyond Paradise

He’s the character fans love to hate, and it looks like Martha Llyoyd’s ex, Archie Hughes, is back to get in the way of her relationship with Di Humphrey Goodman in the new series of Beyond Paradise.

Archie, played by Jamie Bamber, last popped up in the show’s debut series, helping Martha (Sally Bretton) launch her new restaurant.

But he then tried to kiss his ex, resulting in a very public brawl with Humphrey (Kris Marshall).

The last series saw Martha and Humphrey celebrate their wedding day, while not actually getting married – with the Di slipping a wedding ring on to his fiancée’s finger after their long struggle with Ivf.

But the relationship looks to be in trouble with Archie’s comeback as the series returns for a third run on BBC One on Friday at 8pm.

A show insider teased: “Archie quite literally gets in the middle of Humphrey and Martha.”

Ashley Cain discovers he’s not as tough as he thinks on his new BBC Three show Into The Danger Zone.

He explores extreme criminality in the series, which airs from April 1 at 9pm.

He said: “You will see me looking absolutely terrified. Turns out I’m not as fearless as I thought.”

Honey, I spy sexy thriller

An Mi6 agent drawn into a dysfunctional love triangle will be at the heart of a steamy new BBC drama.

The series, titled Honey, comes from the makers of award-winning spy thriller series Killing Eve.

It will dive into 1980s Berlin to explore a shadowy world of counter-espionage.

Main character Marta, a deep undercover agent, will battle to avoid detection by spy boss Friedrich Bauman – the same man she finds herself caught in a ménage à trois with, alongside a reckless, arrogant and attractive Cia operative.

A synopsis teases: “The risk of being garrotted or incarcerated is nothing compared to the horrifying ordeal of falling in love – Marta would rather have her fingernails ripped off.”

The six episodes will air on BBC One and iPlayer.

Four new true-crime series are coming to Sky.

Murder In The Park investigates the killings of Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman; Who Killed Goldfinger? looks into the death of John Palmer; The Girl Who Caught A Killer investigates the kidnapping of Rachel Watts and Amsterdam Narcos.

Appearing on The Great British Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer was emotional for Kate Garraway – as the disease impacted her family and claimed a good pal’s life.

The tv presenter told me: “I don’t think there’s a family that hasn’t been touched by cancer in some way. My grandmothers, my grandfather, and my aunt all had cancer.

“One of my closest friends since the day I was born lost her life to cancer three years ago – when she passed away having fought for so long, it was devastating.

“Anything we can do to make cancer treatment help people live as long as possible, and as well as possible, is just so important.”

Kate’s episode airs at 7.40pm on Sunday on Channel 4.

A WOMAN has revealed the bizarre side effect of taking fat loss injections.

Amy Kane lost 11 stone with the weight loss drug and is thrilled with the results.

She’s often seen dancing on her TikTok in a towel, boasting how “being skinny is great”.

And explaining how “losing more than half your body weight is life-changing”, as she stands in one leg of her old jeans.

But she is often asked about the side effects as she has been on it for more than 14 months.

One curious viewer asked: “Ok, not to be weird, is it true about the Ozempic butt?”

Amy was quick to respond and give her thoughts on the side effects.

While she admitted there ‘wasn’t much back there to start with,’ it was a common problem caused by the drug.

In the clip, Amy shook her bum and danced as she showed her figure off.

But Amy didn’t seem fussed about the change to her body shape and said she was overall more healthy even if she had lost her curves.

“Me shaking my Ozempic butt knowing I’ve never been healthier,” she wrote.

According to experts at Healthline, ‘Ozempic Butt’ is a real side effect from the drug.

Some people tell Amy she’s now too thin after her weight loss
Instagram/@amyinhalf

The term is used to describe sagging skin around the area and can give a ‘deflated’ appearance, particularly to curvier parts of the body.

But it is not a direct result of the fat loss jab, instead, it’s from losing extreme amounts of weight over a short period of time.

To deal with the changes, Jana Abelovska, superintendent pharmacist at Click Pharmacy offers her suggestions.

Exercising is one of the best ways to help your skin return to normal after losing weight. In particular, patients should regularly use exercises such as weight-lifting and resistance training,” says Abelovska.

This, she explains, not only builds muscle that will fill some of the space left behind after losing weight, but it can also promote more elasticity in the skin, which will aid it in bouncing back.

The clip shared to her TikTok account @amyinhalf has gone viral with over 180k views and 1,200 likes.

Everything you need to know about fat jabs

Weight loss jabs are all the rage as studies and patient stories reveal they help people shed flab at almost unbelievable rates, as well as appearing to reduce the risk of serious diseases.

Wegovy – a modified version of type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic – and Mounjaro are the leading weight loss injections used in the UK.

Wegovy, real name semaglutide, has been used on the NHS for years while Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a newer and more powerful addition to the market.

Mounjaro accounts for most private prescriptions for weight loss and is set to join Wegovy as an NHS staple this year.

How do they work?

The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less so your body burns fat for energy instead and you lose weight.

They do this my mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which signals to the brain when the stomach is full, so the drugs are officially called GLP-1 receptor agonists.

They slow down digestion and increase insulin production, lowering blood sugar, which is why they were first developed to treat type 2 diabetes in which patients’ sugar levels are too high.

Can I get them?

NHS prescriptions of weight loss drugs, mainly Wegovy and an older version called Saxenda (chemical name liraglutide), are controlled through specialist weight loss clinics.

Typically a patient will have to have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, classifying them as medically obese, and also have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure.

GPs generally do not prescribe the drugs for weight loss.

Private prescribers offer the jabs, most commonly Mounjaro, to anyone who is obese (BMI of 30+) or overweight (BMI 25-30) with a weight-related health risk.

Private pharmacies have been rapped for handing them out too easily and video calls or face-to-face appointments are now mandatory to check a patient is being truthful about their size and health.

Are there any risks?

Yes – side effects are common but most are relatively mild.

Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea.

Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at patient.info, said: “One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.”

Other uncommon side effects include altered taste, kidney problems, allergic reactions, gallbladder problems and hypoglycemia.

Evidence has so far been inconclusive about whether the injections are damaging to patients’ mental health.

Figures obtained by The Sun show that, up to January 2025, 85 patient deaths in the UK were suspected to be linked to the medicines.

People were quick to take to the comments sharing their experience and many claimed to also get ‘Ozempic butt.’

One person wrote: “100%. This is saving lives.”

Another commented: “Yes, shaking it proudly.”

“Bwahahahahaha it’s so true,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “t’s a real thing but I started working out and it’s all good.”

“No butt here, had a big one! Don’t care-83lbs down!” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “It’s true, it took my dumpy QUICK.”
