Kelsey Parker reveals heartbreaking way boyfriend has stepped in to do things Tom Parker couldn’t for kids

The media personality, who is pregnant with her and Will’s first child together, was previously married to Tom Parker.

The Wanted singer tragically died from brain cancer in 2022, at the age of 33, leaving behind Kelsey, daughter Aurelia, five, and son Bodhi, four.

Kelsey, 33, gave a family update as she revealed that new boyfriend Will has stepped in to do things her late husband couldn’t for their kids.

The podcast host sat down with opera singer Camilla Kerslake for the latest episode of Mum’s The Word.

Kelsey told listeners: “Tom died when he [Bhodi] was 18 months, I gave him everything. I have over given, Bridget Jones talks about it, when it’s just you, I was mum and dad. I’ve given so much of me, now they just expect ‘me, me, me at 3 o’clock in the morning.

“I’m so happy that Will is there and Will has taken, I don’t want to say the role of dad … role model.

“So he now backs me, I’ve never had that because Tom was too ill, he couldn’t really pick Bodhi up, so now I’ve go Will who backs me… Bodhi is like, ‘hang on a second’.

“He absolutely adores Will and he listens to him, he needed the male role model.”

Kelsey announced in January she was expecting a baby with Will.

She has since hit back at trolls, with Will encouraging her to “block out the haters” who slam her for moving on too quickly.

Appearing on Lorraine this week, Kelsey said: “It’s been three years, this is Tom’s three year anniversary of his death and it’s almost like people want me to feel guilty for moving on.”

She then asked Will: “Does it stress you out that I get upset about trolls and people commenting on our relationship?”

Will responded: “Not really, I just tell you not to look at them don’t I. There’s bound to be some people sending nice messages but block out the haters.”

Kelsey shared: “I’m always going to have guilt but what’s so hard is that Tom’s not here anymore so what do people want me to do?”.

“Our house was full of so much sadness but now it’s full of happiness, the kids deserve that more than anything.

“They’ve been through so much, I feel like we are taking the steps forward to heal but I just want other women to feel like it’s ok to move on, it’s not taking anything away from the love I had for Tom.

The mum-of-two revealed she is planning to pay tribute to late husband Tom when she gives birth.

Aurelia came up with a touching way of keeping her dad’s memory alive.

Kelsey told OK! Magazine: “I feel like Aurelia’s been in this world before. And when I was eight weeks pregnant, she came up and started talking to a baby in my tummy.

“Will and I just looked at each other in total disbelief! She has also said she’d like the baby to be called ‘Parker’ if it’s a boy.”

She admitted it had been “bittersweet” finding out she was expecting because she had also planned a big family with Tom.

“I’ve felt every emotion under the sun,” she said. “I’m still getting my head around it but I’m so excited. And I know I’m putting myself out there, telling people. I just want everyone to be as happy as I am.”

She continued: “I’m just trying to find joy. I love my children – they’ve got me through the worst times. So I feel like I’ve been blessed with another.

“If I dwelled on everything that’s happened, I wouldn’t be here. Tom was my soulmate. I’m still angry he’s gone. But I can’t live in sadness. Tom wouldn’t want that.”

Kelsey revealed she was in a new relationship with tree surgeon Will , 27, after posting a loved-up snap of the pair of them together last September.

She discovered she was pregnant again in October.

Drunk driver, 38, jailed for causing death of man on scooter after drinking 6 pints before crashing through Sligo garden

A DRUNK driver has been sentenced to over four and a half years in prison over a fatal crash involving a van and an e-scooter.

Colin Harte, 38, of Pharmacy Apartment, Riverstown, Co Sligo pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and dangerous driving causing the death of popular local Anthony Connolly, 52, at Rusheen, Riverstown in Sligo on October 25 2023.

At the sentencing hearing on Tuesday, the court heard that on the evening of October 25 2023, Colin Harte was on his way to a golf range near to his home, before he decided to stop at Kelly’s Bar in Ballygawley.

CCTV evidence replayed in court showed the accused entering the pub through a back door and taking a seat against the bar, where he is seen drinking four pints of beer in 48 minutes.

He then left Kelly’s Bar, and travelled to another pub, McDermotts, where he claims he had a further two pints.

The court heard that at the same time, Anthony Connolly, who was described as a well-known community man active in the local hospitality industry and sports clubs, was visiting friends in the Rusheen area.

He was travelling by e-scooter and was wearing a high-vis jacket with red lights on the back in the form of an X, as well as a helmet.

Witnesses described finding Harte’s Volkswagen Caddy Van had crashed through a garden.

While surveying the damage to her property, homeowner Sylvia Marron’s statement described how she then found the body of Anthony Connolly, partly across the garden and footpath.

The court heard how the victim’s brother Michael Connolly had arrived on the scene shortly before Anthony was discovered, having been driving in the area and stopping to render assistance.

Harte was subsequently breathalysed by an on-duty Garda and failed the test, indicating that he was over the legal alcohol limit.

He was then arrested and brought to Sligo University Hospital, where a urine test showed he was over two and a half times the legal limit.

While the road at the time had a speed limit of 80kph, Forensic Investigator Sergeant Eoin O’Connor stated that Mr Harte was travelling at 91kph, with that figure likely an underestimate due to factors in the data.

SENTENCE HANDED DOWN

Anthony’s sister Bridie Gallagher read her victim impact statement to the court describing how a senseless, preventable act had taken her brother’s life, causing a devastating injury to her family.

In sentencing Mr Harte, Judge Kenneth Connolly assigned Harte a sentence of 63 months in prison with 9 months suspended for a period of 18 months.

The judge also banned him for driving for 8 years, with a further two-year ban assigned to run concurrently as punishment for the charge of driving under the influence.
