Watch nail-biting moment two terrified boys dangle on edge of high rise building after brothers are left home alone

THIS is the jaw-dropping moment pair of brothers aged three and five dangle over a tower block drop after being left home alone.

Nail-biting footage recorded in Hong Kong shows the older boy sitting on an air conditioning unit dangling his tiny legs over the huge drop.

Meanwhile, the younger brother sits on a ledge of the high-rise apartment under the family’s flat – as police beg him to crawl back to safety.

The shocking footage continues with the older boy seemingly unaware of the potentially disastrous danger they are both in.

But the younger child is visibly much more distressed than his older sibling, and can be seen wailing desperately before he is carried back up by police.

The Sun has chosen not to reveal the brothers’ faces or identity.

The boys had been left home alone by their parents and managed to escape their room by climbing out through an unlocked window.

Gobsmacked bystanders called police who urgently rushed towards the building and broke into the family’s flat.

The nearly-devastating incident took place on March 21 in the skyscraper-dense city of Hong Kong.

In the horrifying footage, police can be seen ushering the younger boy back to safety – and he eventually stands up on the narrow ledge and grasps the hand of one cop who hauls him to safety.

However, his unfazed older brother seems to refuse to budge despite pleas from cops – and this causes a rescuer donning climbing gear to rush to the scene.

The abseiling man lowers himself towards the kid, and ties the child to a safety line in order to scramble the pair of them to safety.

The brothers’ parents were only identified as 32-year-old Li and 29-year-old To.

They were found nearby soon after and arrested by cops.

According to police, the couple face up to 10 years in jail for child neglect.

In 2019, petrified window cleaners were rescued from a skyscraper cradle which was swinging “wildly out of control” in high-speed winds.

Shocking footage captured the dramatic incident unfold on the side of an Oklahoma City tower in the United States.

In February this year, two climbers became trapped at the top of a massive 200ft rock tower after their ropes got tangled by high winds.

The pair of rock climbers had climbed up a tall, slender pillar called the “Totem Pole”, which rises from the sea at Cap Hauy on the Australian island of Tasmania.

Dan Ashworth closing in on shock return to football just four months after being brutally sacked by Man Utd

DAN ASHWORTH is in line to return to football with a senior role at the FA, according to reports.

Ashworth, 54, was sacked by Manchester United in December after just five months at Old Trafford.

Now the former Newcastle and Brighton chief is set to return to the FA, where he spent five years as Director of Development between 2013 and 2018.

According to The Telegraph, Ashworth has been in talks with the FA over the role for some time – long before Thomas Tuchel’s opening two games during the international break.

It’s claimed that Ashworth would be joining in a role that would see him oversee the “St George’s Park 2.0 project” – a huge redevelopment project of England’s training ground facilities announced last month.

It’s thought that Ashworth would also look after both the men’s and women’s senior and junior teams, looking closely at coach development.

At present, it appears that Ashworth’s appointment would have no impact on the the current technical director roles within the FA.

Ashworth has been without a job since his dismissal at Old Trafford, but has been considered for a number of different roles in the meantime.

It was revealed that he was one of many candidates considered by Arsenal for their sporting director job, before the North London club landed on former Atletico Madrid chief Andrea Berta.

Ashworth has been praised for his role with England and the FA in the past – spearheading a period of change with the national team.

The Telegraph has claimed that there’s concern within the FA about the state of British coaching pathways with very few home nation bosses in top flight football and German national Thomas Tuchel in charge of the national side.

It was revealed last month that Ashworth’s exit from Manchester United had cost the club £4.1MILLION.

Ashworth has also taken up an advisory role with Warwickshire County Cricket Club since leaving the Red Devils, according to The Times.

He has been involved with the cricket club since 2021, having held an honorary role on their audit committee for over three years.

That role is said to have involved oversight of what Warwickshire call their “elite teams and high-performance structure”.

England ratings vs Albania as Lewis-Skelly enjoys dream debut but Tuchel fails to solve Foden issue

By Tom Barclay

MYLES LEWIS-SKELLY made history and Harry Kane extended his own record-breaking as England sunk Albania in Thomas Tuchel’s first game.

Lewis-Skelly became the youngest player to score on his Three Lions debut and top goal-getter Kane notched his 70th international strike as Tuchel began his World Cup qualifying campaign with a modest 2-0 win.

New boy Dan Burn partnered Ezri Konsa in central defence at Wembley, while Marcus Rashford and Curtis Jones were also handed starts.

Meanwhile, Tuchel wrestled with the same issue faced by predecessor Sir Gareth Southgate – deciding where to fit in Phil Foden.

Left-back Lewis-Skelly, 18, slotted home on 20 minutes following a delightful turn and even better pass from Jude Bellingham.

But England stuttered after the break – until skipper Kane classily took down a Declan Rice pass and curved home the clincher.

Here’s how SunSport’s Tom Barclay rated the Three Lions in German manager Tuchel’s opening match…

The tell-tale signs you have rats hiding in your garden & the 5 ways to get rid of them

RATS are pesky creatures that can be difficult to get rid of once they’ve made themselves at home.

Not only do they repopulate quickly, but rats can also be hard to spot in the garden thanks to their sneaky instincts.

We share five ways to get rats out of your garden for good[/caption]

Fortunately, we’ve cracked the tell-tale signs they’ve infested your garden – and how to get them gone for good.

Droppings

As grim as it is, rat droppings are the most obvious sign they are in your garden.

The dark droppings are about 1cm in length and are often found by food sources, along walls or in sheltered areas like sheds.

How to fix it: Rats are usually attracted to gardens because food sources are left out.

Make sure to remove fallen fruit, seeds, or uneaten pet food so they won’t have a reason to come in.

Scent Trail

Another sign you have rats is one you won’t be able to see but won’t be able to miss.

These pests can leave behind a musky smell that lingers in the garden.

Many experts point out that rats have an “ammonia smell”, which is strong and pungent, somewhat similar to urine and sweat.

How to fix it: Inspect your garden for any holes or gaps that could be their point of entry.

Use wire mesh or steel wool to block off openings in fences, sheds, and even walls.

Damaged Plants

Rats are not fussy when it comes to food and will take whatever they can get, including your plants.

If you notice damage to crops or plants that are partially eaten, it could be a sign they’ve made your garden their home.

How to fix it: Certain smells can repel rats, so sprinkle substances like peppermint oil, citronella, or crushed garlic around your plants to keep them away.

You can even plant strong-smelling herbs such as lavender, mint, or rosemary to deter them.

Keep pests out all summer

Hornets and wasps – hate the smell of peppermint oil so spraying this liberally around your patio or balcony can help to keep them at bay.

Moths – acidic household white vinegar is effective for deterring moths. Soak some kitchen roll in vinegar and leave it in your wardrobe as a deterrent.

Flying ants – herbs and spices, such as cinnamon, mint, chilli pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cloves, or garlic act as deterrents.

Mosquitoes – plants, herbs and essential oil fragrances can help deter mossies inside and out. Try eucalyptus, lavender and lemongrass.

Bite Marks

Rats have strong teeth and will gnaw on pretty much any surface, including wood, plastic, or garden furniture.

How to fix it: Introducing natural predators to your garden may help keep rats out.

Owls or cats can deter the pests so building an owl box and making your garden cat-friendly should keep them away.

Burrow down

The garden pests often dig burrows to nest in and are typically found in soft soil under garden structures or near compost heaps.

They are usually small holes with smooth edges and may have well-worn paths leading to them.

How to fix it: Humane traps next to nests can help you solve the problem.

Place the catchers around the garden, and once they’re in, you can safely move them far away from your garden.

Scots newlyweds left heartbroken after cruel venue worker steals almost £1,000 from wedding cards

NEWLYWEDS were left gutted after a hotel staff member stole the money from their wedding cards.

Danielle Thomson and Mark Brodie, both now 30, tied the knot at Crutherland House Hotel in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire.

They left their cards and gifts from loved ones in a special postbox before taking them home to open two days later.

Overnight hotel worker Craig Harrison, 37, was caught by security cameras opening envelopes, taking out money, and taping them closed again, and was arrested by police.

Harrison, from Carluke, pleaded guilty to theft of £900 at Hamilton Sheriff Court, South Lanarkshire, on February 10.

He was asked to pay £1,200 compensation to the couple and a £1,000 fine on March 11.

The hotel refunded the couple £1,800, Danielle said.

Danielle, from East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, who works in catering, said: “It was just such a horrible shock.

It was a horrible shock… Weddings are expensive and planned to be the best day of your life, you just don’t expect something like this

Danielle Thomson

“Our wedding was lovely but we never got to enjoy the start of being married.

“It was very upsetting. The cards from my dad and grandad weren’t there at all.

“We had to go round and ask all our guests how much they gave us so we could tell the police – that felt very difficult.

“When people ask us about the wedding we want to talk about how great it was but this has overshadowed all of that.”

The couple tied the knot on August 19 2023 and opened their cards two days later to find no money inside – and some were just empty envelopes, Danielle said.

Some of the cards had been taped shut.

Parents-of-one Danielle, and Mark, who works in environmental services, paid around £5,000 for their wedding.

Harrison has to pay the total of £2,200 by April 8.

It was very upsetting. We had to ask all our guests how much they gave us so we could tell the police – that felt very difficult

Danielle Thomson

Danielle added: “It was a horrible thing to happen and has been made worse by the fact that it’s dragged on for ages.

Weddings are expensive and planned to be the best day of your life, you just don’t expect something like this.”

A spokesperson from Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, which owns the hotel, said: “Our team take considerable care to keep our guests, and their belongings, safe during their visit.

“The comprehensive and strict security measures in place at the hotel allowed us to act quickly and decisively.

“The incident, which occurred two years ago, was immediately reported to Police Scotland.

“A thorough internal investigation was conducted, and the guests were fully reimbursed for their loss.”

Oodie Review: Kieran Ahuja reveals whether Oodies are worth it...

Oodie's Hooded Blankets have been hugely popular. Our Reviews Manager Kieran Ahuja weighs in on whether they are worth the hype.

Pros:

  • Incredibly warm
  • Great selection of designs
  • Almost the definition of cosy
  • Could save you money on your heating

Cons:

  • Not cheap for something that you probably shouldn’t wear out of the house
  • Slightly difficult to store
  • Can get a bit too warm
  • Not the most flattering garments

Rating: 5/5

At first, I treated the Oodie a little bit like a bad habit, only wearing it when I knew I wouldn’t be caught, sneaking around, fluff-clad, in the dead of night.

However, before long, I was wearing it on work calls, answering the door in it, and generally going about my daily business without a care in the world.

My first encounter with Oodie actually happened a while before I got one; my girlfriend has one, and I’ll be honest, I ridiculed her for it. So it was not with an entirely open mind that I received my Oodie.

I was wowed by how warm, cosy and high-quality my Oodie was, and I haven’t once felt cold since I got mine — putting the heating on hasn’t even crossed my mind.

Since I got mine, I’ve encouraged plenty of friends and family to get one.

To make buying an Oodie worth it, I think you need to grab one in a sale, and wearing it admittedly takes a bit of self-deprecation.

Read the full Oodie review here.

When does the Oodie sale end?

We’re not quite sure when exactly this Oodie sale will end.

It’s worth noting that stock levels are already low across the site, though, with almost no Kids’ Oodies in stock at the time of writing.

Other items, such as sleep tees, are also in high demand, so it’s worth acting quickly if you want to secure something specific.

What is an Oodie?

An Oodie is a wearable hooded blanket made from high-quality, cruelty-free material, with soft flannel fleece on the outside and warm sherpa fleece on the inside.

This warm and cosy hooded blanket is one-size-fits-most as it’s oversized, based on a 6XL hoodie.

Oodies can be pretty pricey, but the bundle sets are good value, and the current deals make many of the designs much more affordable.

Official Oodies are only sold from theoodie.co.uk, but there are many other brands of hooded blankets and imitation Oodies on the market.

What are Oodies made of?

Oodies received top marks when it comes to comfort and warmth — as well as excellent quality and durability — meaning that it should be an investment item that will last.

Oodies are made from warm flannel fleece on the outside and super soft Sherpa fleece on the inside.

They are vegan and cruelty-free and can be machine-washed at a low temperature.

Plus, if you feel the cold, or want to avoid whacking up the heating with the winter months looming, the Oodie hoodie, dressing gown or plush socks, are bound to keep you warm and save you more instead of high electricity bills.

Can you sleep with an Oodie on?

It’s entirely up to you.

Oodie is designed to be an oversized and cosy wearable blanket, providing warmth and comfort “for movie nights, snuggles, and gaming marathon”.

They’re not specifically billed as being for sleep, but with their thick fleece material, some fans find them ideal for getting some shut-eye in colder environments, thanks to the snug, cocoon-like feel.

However, others find them too bulky and restrictive for sleeping in, and it’s also possible you’ll get too warm if you’re under a duvet.

If in doubt, check out Oodie’s range of sleepwear, where you’ll find sleep tees, dressing gowns and pyjamas, all of which are perfect for bed.

What is similar to an Oodie?

There are loads of hooded blankets and oversized hoodies available that are similar to the Oodie in both material and size.

They come in a variety of patterns and designs for adults and kids, but from what we’ve seen Oodie still offers the biggest selection.

The Oodie range features printed designs emblazoned with cute animals, foods, cartoon characters and film icons.

But you can get plain colours if you prefer an understated look.

Many competitor products look the same, some are longer, and some have zips up the front; you can even buy a hooded blanket for your dog.

What does Oodie stand for?

In this context, we think Oodie comes from the word hoodie, as it’s a combination of a blanket and an oversized hoodie.

It’s not yet in the dictionary with this meaning, but it’s only a matter of time before it is.

Is Oodie the same as a Snuddie?

The Snuddie is Primark’s version of the Oodie, and it has gone down a storm with shoppers.

The snuggly Snuddie comes in a range of designs and the prices start from £12.

It looks similar to the original Oodie design and is considered a very affordable dupe.

Who owns Oodie?

Oodie was founded by Australian Davie Fogarty in his home city of Adelaide.

The company is still headquartered there, and its customer service team is also based there.

Oodie uses UK fulfilment centres to send out orders, so you don’t have to wait for your Oodie to wing its way from Oz.
