Fans ‘can’t wait to read it’ as Conor Murray reveals cover and release date of new book about Ireland and Munster career
CONOR MURRAY has revealed the cover and release date of his upcoming autobiography.
‘Cloud Nine: My Life in Rugby’ will hit the shelves later this year, and comes with a foreword from his former Ireland teammate Johnny Sexton.

The cover art is simple, featuring a headshot of Murray against a dark background.
It was posted to Instagram by publishing company Wasserman Ireland which confirmed a release date of September 11.
The post was captioned: “Presenting the cover of ‘Cloud Nine: My Life In Rugby‘; the autobiography of @conormurray9
“Read about Conor’s incredible journey by picking up a copy on the 11th September 2025”
Fans flocked to the comments to express their anticipation for the release, with one saying: “Can’t wait to read it, congrats Conor”
A second said: “Exciting to see this! The countdown is on ”
A third commented: “Defo be reading this ”
And a fourth said: “Congratulations”
The 35-year-old was one of three Ireland players who retird from international rugby after the Six Nations – alongside Peter O’Mahony and Cian Healy.
While Munster teammate O’Mahony and Leinster great Healy will be retiring from club rugby at the end of the season, Murray will continue his career abroad.
Although not even he knows where that will be.
He said: “In terms of playing, play another year somewhere, for my family, they’ve been incredible.
“My wife Joanna, my son Alfie, especially Joanna over the last few years and the sacrifices she’s made.
“So as a family, go away and maybe do something for a year and enjoy ourselves for a lifestyle change.
“Body-wise, I still feel great. I still feel I can play rugby at a high level. So nothing is set in stone yet.
“But I think that would be nice for us to let the dust settle on retiring in this country and go away and have an experience and come back to the real world then.”
If there is a regret in his career, it is that his time was just after Munster’s glory years.
He said: “With Ireland I’m so grateful to come in at that time. Came in in 2011 as a bolter for the World Cup.
“With Munster too, it’s my home province and we’ve battled and we’ve gotten close a few times.
“That will be something we might not do, you never know this year, but so far we haven’t done the European triumph which is something I grew up wanting to do.
“But I know I gave it everything for Munster and I will when I go back for the remainder of the season, and it would be lovely to get one of those cups.
“I’ve had so many highs in a Munster jersey. I know there isn’t a European Cup there but there are so many class memories I’ll take with me.
“The highs are incredible and the joy and satisfaction you feel, but I’m proud of that.”
