Rosanna Davison’s celebrity dad persuaded her to add his ‘dream’ addition to her home after being shut down by his wife
ROSANNA Davison’s dad Chris de Burgh has persuaded her to add his “dream” room to her home after being shut down by his wife.
The Dublin beauty finally secured the keys to her family‘s forever home, after years of house hunting, last November.

Rosanna and her husband Wes Quirke had initially planned on making a few small changes to the home but it has “snowballed” into a huge renovation project after “gutting the entire house”.
The couple, who have three kids Sophia, Hugo and Oscar, are hoping to move into the pad around June.
And they’re adding very own private cinema room to their home after Rosanna’s singing dad Chris suggested it.
The former Miss World told The Irish Sun: “We were showing him around a few months ago, and he was like, ‘What are you doing with this room?’, and we said, ‘Oh, it was originally an office, but we just thought we’d keep it as an office, because it has a kind of big window’.
“He was like, ‘Make it into a cinema room’. And we were laughing at him, going, ‘You must be joking’. But he wasn’t, he was being dead serious.
“He had wanted to put in a cinema room to watch matches and things in the house that my parents are in and my mum said, ‘No, it’s going to be a spare room’.
“And so he was blocked from his dream of having a home cinema.
“So now he’s like, ‘Oh, I can live over at their house and watch, he’s mad into football. He supports Liverpool, Wes supports Man United, so there’s a bit of a healthy rivalry there.
“He just wants somewhere to get away and watch a few matches in peace.”
The mum-of-three has said she’s “learned an awful lot” since starting the renovations.
She explained: “The detail you have to put into a house, like the wiring, where sockets go, you really have to consider where you’ll be in the house and your routine.
“So where will you charge your phone when you get into bed? Do you want to get out again to turn off the switch? But it’s just the practicality.
“Do you want to charge your laptop at the kitchen island somewhere, and you have to think of all these things in advance while the kitchen is being kind of designed and made.
FAMILY JOY
“So I’ve learned a lot about just the flow of a house and how we want to live.”
Rosanna also said she would have “never” taken on such a big project if she didn’t have kids.
She added: “But we just want a home where we can have everyone over, all their friends, over families, have our birthday parties, Christmases, and it our turn to host Christmas because my parents have done it for years now.
“We just didn’t have the space in the house we’re in. So we just want that kind of house that they can grow up in and have all their friends over all the time.”

Award-winning airline launches new flights from Glasgow to two popular holiday resorts
TURKEY is increasingly becoming a favourite holiday destination for us Scots and it’s no wonder.
The country has fabulous resorts dotted along it’s massive coastline, from the Aegean to the Med, thousands of hotels to suit all tastes, from 2* to 5* luxury and near year-round fabulous weather.

And now it is even easier to get to thanks to new daily flights launching from Glasgow this week from award-winning airline SunExpress.
The carrier will operate four flights a week to Antalya on Mondays, Tuesday, Fridays and Saturdays, with the first taking to the skies tomorrow (FRID).
They will also operate two weekly flights to Dalaman, starting on Saturday, with the other weekly flight taking to the skies on Tuesdays.
The airline, owned jointly by Turkish Airlines and Germany’s Lufthansa, began flights to Turkey from Edinburgh in 2022.
They now fly daily to Antalya from the capital, four times a week to Dalaman (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) and two weekly services to the popular resort of Izmir (Wednesdays and Saturdays).

Chief executive Max Kownatzki estimates passenger numbers on the airline’s services between Scotland and Turkey will increase from 85,000 last year to 185,000 this year.
In total SunExpress, which was named Best Leisure Airline in Europe in the Skytrax awards in 2023 and 24, plan to fly over 1.7 million holidaymakers from the UK to Turkey this year.
Tobias Bracht, Head of Sales for SunExpress, said: “We are thrilled to launch of our exciting new routes from Glasgow direct to Antalya and Dalaman – two of Turkey’s most popular destinations.
“We are dedicated to offering exceptional value and convenience to our passengers with direct flights and look forward to connecting them with Turkey.”
SunExpress offers a range of ticket fare options with the basic SunEco option including at least 20kgs of checked baggage on international flights.
Passengers can upgrade to SunClassic and SunPremium fares with added benefits including increased baggage allowance, pre-flight seat selection, inclusive onboard meals and the ability to amend bookings without extra charge.
Christopher Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports, which owns Glasgow Airport, said: “We are thrilled to offer a warm welcome to SunExpress, which is a new airline partner for Glasgow Airport.
“Both Antalya and Dalaman are firm favourites with our customers, so the addition of an extra 1,200 seats per week bound for two of Turkey’s most popular destinations is fantastic news.”
Mr Kownatzki, who took over as CEO of SunExpress in 2020, said they would look at the success of the new routes this summer before deciding on year-round connectivity.
And drawing inspiration from Scotland’s passion for golf, SunExpress’ passengers from Glasgow will also be able to tee off against picturesque backdrops and experience the perfect blend of leisure and adventure with the airline’s SunExpress Golf Club programme, launched in January.
Turkey ranks the third most popular golf destination in Europe behind Spain and Portugal and Mr Kownatzki flagged SunExpress’s success in building on that golfing demand.
Members benefit from attractive travel advantages including SunPriority Package (priority at check-in, boarding and baggage reclaim), free lounge access with fast track at the Antalya Airport, as well as free golf baggage check-in.
At participating golf clubs, members also receive various discounts, including free rounds of golf and can bag themselves hotel upgrades (subject to availability), free transfers and discounts on other green fees.

Participating partners include Bilyana Golf Holidays, Cullinan Belek Hotel, Gloria Hotels & Resorts, Gloria Golf Club, Antalya Golf Club, Voyage Belek Golf &Spa Hotel, Maxx Royal Montgomerie Golf Club, Regnum Carya Hotel ( entitled to free entrance for Land of Legends Theme Park) and Sueno Hotels.

The Apprentice’s former candidates reveal REAL reason they signed up for show – and its not for Lord Sugar’s £250,000
AN INVESTMENT from Lord Sugar may be the prize for winning BBC One’s The Apprentice – but that doesn’t mean that’s why the candidates are signing up for the show.
Two former candidates have revealed they had very different reasons for filling out the application forms, and going ahead with the process.

Raj Chohan, who took part in The Apprentice in 2023, revealed that she had hopes to meet her celebrity idol by joining the line-up.
She revealed: “I was in the car with my daughter, and she asked me if I could meet any celebrity in the world, who would it be.
“I think she thought I’d say someone like Drake or Rihanna at the time, but it was Lord Sugar.
“Then I thought, ‘Well, how do I meet Lord Sugar? His time is ticking away, his clock is ticking…’
“That’s why I ended up applying for The Apprentice.”
While Solomon Akhtar, who took part in 2014, admitted he took the plunge to try and one-up a friend who’d already appeared on telly.
His pal had gone through the selection process on Channel 4 series First Dates, and made it to screens.
He joked: “One of my mates had done Channel 4’s First Dates – so it was like, I think that I can one-up him and go on The Apprentice.
“Maybe I should’ve just done First Dates…”
The Apprentice continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One
