RUTH Langsford took a shock swipe at Eamonn Holmes live on Loose Women today.
Presenter Ruth, 64, made the rare remark during a discussion about childbirth and midwifery on the ITV daytime show.
Reflecting on the birth of their son Jack, now 22, Ruth quipped, “Eamonn did what he could,” prompting laughter from her co-stars and the audience.
She said: “My midwife Maria, who sadly passed, we remained friends, she came to Jack’s birthday parties when he was young.
“I just remember feeling that Maria and I birthed Jack… I mean Eamonn was there and he did what he could in that moment.”
It was then that fellow panellist Myleene Klass let out a chuckle, along with a few members of the studio crowd.
Ruth continued: “At that moment, I was relying on her. You know, when you have your eyes closed. I could hear her talking, going, ‘Keep on, another breath.’
“I just remember focusing on her voice and her face that really got me through. I was a new mum, I didn’t know what I was doing and she had birthed so many babies.”
Ruth and Eamonn, 65, who co-hosted ITV’s This Morning for 15 years, broke up last May.
Ruth recently spoke publicly for the first time about her split with telly host Eamonn.
And it has not put her off finding love again.
She told Woman & Home magazine: “I’m quite fine being on my own, but not forever.
“Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on.”
“You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.”
Eamonn moved on quickly and went public with his girlfriend, relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 42, in October. Friends say he may soon propose.
He has been seen using a wheelchair due to mobility issues.
Ruth, who was with Eamonn for 27 years, said: “I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it.
“I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.
“Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job.
“I’ve always had that and if you can’t cope, you shouldn’t be doing this job.”
She revealed she had also lost weight.
Ruth said: “Divorce obviously has something to do with it, but I also went for a hormone rebalance, which helped.”
Ruth hosts Loose Women twice a week and covers Thursday on shopping channel QVC, banking £2.5million last year.
She said: “People ask, ‘What’s next?’ I go, ‘What else do you want me to do?’
“Honestly, I’m not looking for more big projects.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has delivered and is one of 2025’s best games so far. Warhorse Studios has released a game that doesn’t just respect the original but improves upon it. With player counts constantly diminishing day by day, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is kind of in a bad condition right now, and the game’s battle royale parallel is in an even worse state. It is currently riddled with hackers and harbors one of the most toxic fanbases in the entire gaming industry. Although […]

DONEGAL boss Jim McGuinness backs the new SFC format that was passed at GAA congress on Saturday.
Delegates gave their overwhelming support for the revamp which will ditch the current round-robin All-Ireland group stages, and revive the back door system.
The new format will come into effect in 2026 and 16 teams will still play for Sam Maguire, but the eight provincial finalists will be drawn to play against the next seven highest NFL finishers and 2025 Tailteann Cup champions.
The winners of those games will advance to the All-Ireland quarter-finals, with the losers playing off against each other in knockout games for the other four quarter-final spots.
Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney lashed the structure change after Armagh’s draw against Mayo on Saturday night, and insists the current format is fine.
But McGuinness says three teams qualifying from four-team groups does not provide enough jeopardy, and hopes the new structure will space out the calendar and ease the financial drain on fans.
He said: “I think that’s good, I think it’ll eliminate dead rubbers. It’ll put a premium on teams trying to get to the Provincial Finals.
“It’ll make the Provincial Championships more competitive as a result, I would suggest. A game less as well, which is good.
“They’re talking about going back into August with the Championship anyway. So, maybe there’s an opportunity. If they do it right, I think there might be an opportunity for two weeks between every game and without doing much at all.
“I think that would be very welcome based on the intensity levels that are required now. It’ll probably improve games as well and help families that are trying to get to the games which have been lost in the ether.
“Also, the Ulster championship now is played over three weeks and expecting families to, if you get to a final, cough up three times in the one paycheck – I don’t think that’s right as well. I don’t think that’s in line with our ethos.”
DANCING With The Stars host Jennifer Zamparelli gave a masterclass in style as she stepped out in a dreamy red gown on last night’s show.
The popular presenter was a vision as she returned for week eight of the hit RTE dance competition.
Jennifer and her usual co-host Doireann Garrihy are renowned for their glamorous looks each week on the show – and this week was a total knockout.
The 44-year-old donned a luxurious looking cherry-red gown from the designer Norma Kamali.
The statement dress flowed perfectly on Jen’s fantastic figure and gave some serious Hollywood vibes.
The classy frock had a flattering cowl neckline and was cinched at the waist.
The stunning Maria Gown currently retails for €310 on their website – the ideal investment for a lavish wedding guest look.
The TV star kept the jewellery to a minimum, however, she made sure to add some glitz with a funky pair of flower-shaped earrings.
The gorgeous star also had her hair down in a side parting and perfectly styled in loose curls.
She also added a standout red lip to complete the look.
Taking to Instagram to show off her look, Jennifer wrote: “What a night on @dwtsirl. A massive thank you as always to @clementinemacneice for styling.
“We’ve only three more weeks to go!!”
And fans and friends all raced to the comment section to swoon over the star’s red-hot outfit.
DWTS judge, Arthur Gourounlian wrote: “VISION. Honestly my favourite of the season.”
Eimear said: “Oh Jen you look so beautiful this really is your colour.”
DWTS host, James Patrice added: “This is BEYOND.”
While Bernadette remarked: “Hollywood vintage glam. Stunning.
My favourite look this season so far.”
And Sandra commented: “I am WEAK!!!!! for this look.”
Assembling the Avengers is going to be a little difficult for Kevin Feige. The phases that have followed Avengers: Endgame did not have heroes that were as wildly popular as the original Avengers roster, which means that the team is going to have to get a little creative with how it is assembled. Sam Wilson, […]
