WOKE uni chiefs have slapped a trigger warning on one of the world’s best known paintings — because it features nudity.
Botticelli’s Birth of Venus — which shows the naked goddess emerging from the sea — is among classical paintings which have been flagged.
Art students at The University of Roehampton, Surrey, are warned they may encounter “some images of nudity” on the course.
Monty Python star Terry Gilliam — who famously reinvented the painting as a cartoon — branded it “utter pathetic bs”.
Michael Daley, of campaign group Artwatch UK, added: “What student might not expect nude figures in Western classical art?”
Earlier in the month, a University slapped more than 200 trigger warnings on William Shakespeare’s works — including for storms and popping balloons.
The University of the West of England also advised drama students that TV adaptions of Macbeth referenced “psychological distress” and “war”.
The so-called Scottish play about a murderous king was even hit with a notice that it contained “family trauma”.
In all, 220 were added to his works and multiple adaptations including versions from respected theatres, the BBC and ITV.
The Winter’s Tale was said to contain “accusations of adultery” and “references to wild animal attack” — as nobleman Antigonus is eaten by a bear.
Romeo and Juliet, which ends with the lovers killing themselves, was said to contain references to “suicide”, “distress” and “mourning”.
The Tempest, about shipwrecked nobles, carries alerts for “storms”, “extreme weather”, “drunkenness” and “witchcraft”.
A recommended 2016 stage adaptation was flagged because it featured the “popping of balloons”.
Free Speech Union leader Toby Young raged: “If I was a University of the West of England drama student, I’d be furious about being treated like such a snowflake.”

LOVE Island’s Harriett has reunited with Luca and Grace f.or a ‘family walk’ but Ronnie was absent following feud claims
Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint recently rekindled their romance on ITV2 spin-off series Love Island: All Stars when they decided to give things another go after splitting up in the autumn of 2024.
Narrowly missing out on making it to the final, the couple were axed just mere days before Casey O’Gorman and Gabby Allen won the show after going up against Luca Bish and Grace Jackson.
And now Harriett has reunited with Luca and Grace after her boyfriend Ronnie previously hinted at a feud between him and Luca.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Harriett shared a snap of several coffee cups held by different hands.
Tagging Luca, Grace and Luca’s sister Claudia, Harriett captioned the post: “First family walk”.
Ronnie was noticeably absent from the snap, which sparked concern that a feud that was hinted at the in the villa is still going strong.
The semi-pro footballer confessed he didn’t want to know Luca, 25, on the outside while he was in the All Stars villa earlier this year.
Ronnie opened up in a telling conversation with Casey, saying he had “enemies who were nicer than Luca”.
Luca, from Brighton, is childhood friends with Ronnie’s partner Harriett.
But the former fishmonger failed to back his pal when she got into a shouting match with Casey during the challenge To Be Honest.
Reacting to Ronnie’s surprise confession on X, one viewer said: “Ronnie having a beef with Luca is so one sided… Luca has no idea there is even any beef.”
This comes after Harriett shared a sweet snap of a romantic gesture Ronnie made amid claims they could be heading for splitsville.
Taking to her Instagram stories to share a snap of a huge bouquet of flowers, Harriett revealed the sweet gift her lover had bought her.
“What a special surprise,” Harriett penned alongside the sweet snap of the romantic gesture.
When the All Stars final aired last weekend, fans were sure that they spotted signs that Harriett and Ronnie could be on the rocks.

Taking to Reddit this fan wrote: “Harriett looks so upset [during the All Stars final] and I think it’s because she’d made a deal with herself to get back with Ronnie just to win because she was SO adamant she wasn’t coming in for that and I think now she’s thinking ‘it was all for nothing.’
“I expect a split soon because she wouldn’t close herself off for ages.
“[She] was still saying she’d entertain new people AFTER he said he loved her, and it was always Ronnie saying ‘oh well we got each other, I come in and got what I wanted’.
“But Harriett never said the same…..”
NEWCASTLE fans have called out Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Santo for “sour grapes” after a dramatic contest at St James Park.
Alexander Isak scored twice for Eddie Howe’s Toon in a rollercoaster 4-3 win on Sunday afternoon.
Forest took an early lead through Callum Hudson-Odoi but proceeded to collapse in spectacular fashion.
Nuno‘s men conceded four goals in just ELEVEN barmy first-half minutes – before almost staging an unlikely fightback after the break.
Newcastle fans were adamant the Portuguese boss – recently named the most-loved in the Prem – snubbed his opposite number Howe for a handshake at full-time.
Sky cameras showed Howe walking towards the Forest dugout at the final whistle, only for Nuno to seemingly walk in the opposite direction and onto the field.
One fan wrote on X: “Sour grapes from Nuno not to shake Eddie’s hand at the end of the match today.”
Another said: “He was all smiles before the game. Very unprofessional.”
But a third countered: “He’s clearly going off to talk to the ref, please don’t make this out to be something it isn’t.”
And a fourth agreed: “Not sure there was anything in this as Nuno and Eddie get on very well.”

Nuno appeared unimpressed to see just three minutes added by the officials following his team’s second-half fightback.
It was not apparent if he shook Howe’s hand after returning from talking to referee Jarred Gillett.
Ryan Yates netted Forest’s third just before the regular 90 minutes elapsed.
And the Forest boss was adamant his team should have been given more time to find a leveller.
Nuno told Sky Sports: “First half, clearly Newcastle better. Second half was better but unfortunately not enough. Too bad, too soon.
“We made mistakes. Newcastle made mistakes also. But it was two totally different halves. We started well, we scored, and they just rolled over us.
“There was nothing else in the first half about us. Every time Newcastle had the ball they scored.
“I wish there was 10 minutes added on. We needed that time.
“We were on top, Newcastle were on the ropes. With 10 minutes I think we can get something from this game.”
A relieved Howe added: “It was great to win. You have to remember that at the end.
“Crazy game, but that’s why we love [football] I suppose.”
Forest remain third after the loss, three points ahead of fourth-placed Manchester City.
Newcastle made ground in the race for the European spots, climbing to fifth and level on points with Pep Guardiola’s side.
THIS is the terrifying moment two fighter jets escort an American Airlines flight after a mid-air bomb threat was received.
The flight that took off from JFK Airport in New York City to New Delhi, India, made a U-turn and had to be grounded in Rome due to a “possible security issue,” the airline said.
American Airlines confirmed Flight 292’s ordeal on Sunday, where the plane was flying near Turkmenistan when a bomb threat was received.
Footage captured of the gargantuan jet shows it flying between two fighter jets before landing at Rome‘s Leonardo da Vinci Airport.
In another clip, a group of people are stood watching in horror as the aircraft landed on the airport runway – with the fighter jets following closely behind.
The jet had departed at around 8:30pm on Saturday and was travelling over the Caspian Sea when the airline chillingly warned the crew of a bomb threat, sources claim.
It was eventually grounded in Rome, Italy, around three hours after departure time due to a bomb threat that was received by email, ABC reports.
The terrifying concern was later determined as being “non-credible,” the airline said.
A senior official told ABC that Indian authorities requested the aircraft be checked prior to landing in New Delhi.
Spokesperson for the airport Francesco Garibaldi didn’t give the specific reason for the diversion but said that security checks would be performed as soon as all the passengers and crew got off the aircraft.
Italian law enforcement checked and cleared the aircraft to re-depart, according to American Airlines.
And passengers are to stay overnight so the crew can rest before they head off to New Delhi on Monday.
One passenger who was onboard the flight during the incident, Yash Raj, said on X that everyone “safely deboarded the aircraft”.
He said: “Huge credit to the cabin crew for handling the situation so well.
“Everyone in the aircraft was calm.”
American Airlines said: “Safety and security are our top priorities and we thank our customers for their understanding.
“We are working closely with local authorities and will provide updates as the situation develops.”
American Airlines is still reeling from when its jet collided with a helicopter over Washington DC – despite it being a clear night.
A catalogue of errors, including staffing issues and the use of the wrong flight path, could be to blame for the crash
New Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy admitted the crash that killed 67 people was “absolutely” preventable.
Black boxes that could hold crucial clues about what caused the crash have been dredged up from the plane wreckage in the Potomac River.
